What effect it might have on fashion in general will be interesting to see.

Hopefully the sneakers will be stocked in stores to reach the people this venture is intended for.
The interesting thing I see happening if it is a success is that the sneakers will be hard to find.  So the cheap sneakers may have a higher status to them then the expensive ones.

That would be an interesting twist.
