I'm sorry I keep asking...but do you guys think this is legit?

HIM:Hey,

Would you be interested in having your own Fan Club type website?
We’re working with a few models on this and I think you have a great look. There is no cost to you and it is estimate that you will make $1,000-$10,000 a month from your site (not porn).

Let me know ASAP if you are interested as we are making our final selections this week.
If you need more info just let me know.

Thanks,

PS
LindaONeil.com is a good example of this and she makes a ton of $$$ and gets a lot of positive exposure because of her site.

ME:    Yea I'm interested!

Christine

HIM:
A little more about the site:

What we are going to do is basically build you a Fan Club site. On your site you will have Fitness/Lifestyle/Modeling videos and photos, a chance for your fans to get to know you and see more you. We will insure your site looks great by making it both fun and sexy.

How it will greatly benefit you:
Let’s say you get offered to appear in a major magazine, like FHM, where you have to potential to be seen by millions. Normally they might pay you around $500, or what ever the going rate is, and that’s it.
Now if you have your own Fan Club site those millions of views that saw you in the magazine can go to your site a become members. Let’s say out of all those people 1000 join at $10 a month. The site makes $10,000 a month, every month. That’s a lot better then just $500. Now imagine if you get into 3 or 4 magazines on top of the fact that we will be marketing and promoting you. Theirs potential to make a ton of money. Plus if someone sees you in a magazine and wanted to hire you for a movie or a modeling job they would have no way of contacting you. With you own site they now will.
It’s a win win situation. I’ve personally been doing this for a year and a half and have made good money as well as receiving more job offers.

Send me your # and I'll call you about setting up a casting in either mid August or early September.

Thanks,

PS
LindaONeil.com is a good example of the type of site we are going to do, it also makes a ton of money (She does some nudity but you don't have to).

ME:
A casting? What do you mean?

HIM:Christine

We need to meet to make sure you have the right look. You look great in your photos but some models look very diferent in person. Also I'll be able to answers questions you may have and go over details.

ME: Im confused, what does it matter how I look in person if my website is for modeling? When did you want to meet and where?

It's "non-nude porn."

Granted, it is the softest of softcore, but it is NOT high art, and the intention is definitely to give your "paying fans" (read: potential stalkers) some alone-time visuals.

The shoots usually involves swimwear (*cough*fitness*cough*), lingerie, some sheer/implied, "uppies," down-blouse, etc. You'd likely be expected to participate in photos, video, private fan forums, and maybe live "webcam" shows. As far as nudity goes, it's all about the "tease," but I imagine that the models who show the most are the ones who make the most.

If you decide to go for it, make SURE you only meet in a public place. I'm a little worried that they mentioned some random NN model rather than showing you any clients of theirs. May be a scam, a "casting" that turns into a one-time porn video, or worse.

Why not just start a site such as this yourself? If it is of interest to you then there are plenty of pretty easy ways to do this with practically every service provider hosting different plans for sites that you can build yourself with very little know how. You don't need someone taking a percentage of your money besides agents right?
By the way, you are hot girl!! Did I just say that out loud?....ummmmm

My radar goes off because when he does the math of what a site makes -- he's talking about gross profit -- before deducting any expenses. Somehow I doubt he intends to share the entire gross profit with you, but he's not exactly being honest about that, is he?

It could be anything from an inexperienced guy who honestly wants to try to make money at this, to a GWC who wants to get you on the casting couch, to a guy with a total scam who will next be asking you to "invest" in the website -- hey - it costs money to build one of these, to take the pictures, to advertise the site properly -- you need to pay me $5000 up front, but don't worry, once we get your pictures up, you'll be making that in a single month. . . .

If you're a glutton for punishment, you could go ahead and meet with him in a public place. But if it were me, FIRST I'd want to see examples of sites he has actually created himself. I would want to talk to at least a couple other models he has worked with. I would want him to give me a COMPLETE breakdown of how the finances would work. And I would want to see copies of any agreements or contracts I would be asked to sign.

And the SECOND he asks for money to build the site, or to cover your photos, whatever, I would hang up the phone, add him to my block/black list, and pat myself on the back for not being an idiot.

If you're going to do a soft-core porn site, you probably should either do it all yourself, or work with a company that has a good track record at these things. No way in hell should you do this with somebody who can't send you to examples of what he has done.
Regards,
Paul

Excellent:
1.  I will run away, thank you
2.  I don't wanna do softcore porn!  I don't even pose nude!
3.  I'de love to make my own website but I haven't the slightest idea how

Just go to the phone book to website design, or surf the net for a website you like, get a hold of the website designer and ask them what they charge.  most of that info is in the fine print of the website...

Is this particular guy legit? Like other said, check his work. If he doesn't have already established sites then he is just a wannabee producer and Id forget him.
His request to meet you for an interview is not, in and of it's self suspicious. If I were going into a continuing business deal with a model I would insist on having a face to face meeting too. I think most photogs here would do the same.
This aversion to a pre-shoot meetings models have is a continuing source of wonderment to me.
On the other hand there are several quite well established producers who do create these sites and it is entirely possible for a model who has a look that catches on to make a pretty decent income out of a site like that. Established producers will have affiliate networks and other effective means of promoting a site like this.
It really depends on what your goals are. Is modeling a short term thing for you and you would really like to make some money right now? If thats the case something like this might be good for you.
On the other hand if you have long term goals in modeling a site like this is probly a bad idea.
As you can see from the previous comments in this thread there is a huge and rather hysterical, prejudice against sites like this in the community and thats alot to deal with.
