YES!  I have had a couple of those.  I ended up taking my messenger info off my page because this person or these people have been driving me crazy.

They have the same story every time but contact me using different screen names.  They claim they saw my page while browsing for a friend but they "lost" my mm id#.  Then they ask for it, or what name I'm under.  When I tell them I am not giving my info out they get pushy.

What is this all about?

Unless you're like me and a few other people here who enjoy screwing with random people who IM you with fake webcam interviews, and offers to fly you out to Moscow for a $50,000 photoshoot, take your screenname off your profile. It will save you a headache. wink

Forgot this....

Another guy emailed me and asked me about working for him.  Offered a lot of $.  I asked a bunch of questions about companies, references, etc. which he did not answer.  He referred me to a photographer "in my area" and I asked that guy the same questions.  No answers.   He did, however, inform me that under no circumstances was I to bring an escort, unless I brought a female.   I'd have to be a moron to fall for something like that.  Who are these creeps?

Why, those are the bad guys.

Please don't confuse them with us good guys.

We're good. Really. We are. Most of the time.

But at least we're not those bad guys.

And please, take escorts to new shoots.

First suggestion  take your im id off your page.

In a perfect world we wouldn't have gwc, scam artist or perverts trying to take advantage of you or see you nude.  This isn't a perfect world.

If you want to im people give it out after a few emails are exchanged.  With your im id displayed you get the crackpots that haven't registered contacting you.  At least mm acts as a filter removing some of the crackpots.  They can't contact you if they don't register.

My girlfriend is on here as a model and a photographer.  It's amazing how many scams people tried to run on her when she had the im id displayed.  I've read about 4 out of the 10 or so she has gotten.   The one that takes the cake is the guy that wanted her to move to dayton and work as a photog/model for 60k a year.  No samples of portraiture, glamour or anything with people on his web page.  Just still life.  I'm betting he wanted to bob shell her but who knows.

Allways trust your gut it usually won't let you down.

Dammit. I hate to be ignorant.
Is bob shell a local term, or should I know it? Or would I be right if I just guessed?

To bob shell- basically you find a girl down on her luck, convince her that she is better than sliced bread.  Photograph her a few times then hire her to run your studio.  3 months later you start an illicit affair with her.

Then you accidently give her the drug that she od's with.

Yeah, I hardly ever get ims.  Anyhow, what professional gives no details and messages people offering them jobs at 2 in the morning?

He could at least spell piercings correctly and spell out all the words fully like "you" instead of "u".  Pet peeve #1 would have to be bad grammar when typing or speaking about jobs or in any professional setting/situation.

Hey, when I got hired at my job the HR person and I also talked over AIM and she used abbreviations like "u" instead of "you" had no regard for punctuation, grammar, or spelling and refused to answer any of my questions too!  Okay, maybe not....

Sometimes you post it with out thinking like I did and forget that it's there and other times you would simply like to think that not all people are scammers.

Speaking of chicks who wear a thong out and expect not to be looked at... man one night at a bar this girl wore a bra and panties and a seethrough dress and a pair of boots.  Girl was asking for trouble.

Anyway I like Envy's response the best...that was some funny shit..

I've had them too. Crazy people. I normally just say "no MM #, no conversation." and block them.

Maybe that should be something MM does...make your IM names only available to members....for the people who want others on MM to be able to contact them via IM.

It is this same creep. (He always mentions Playboy, Victoria Secret, etc.)
I wish someone would DO something about him.

I hope the moderators read this:

I have had offers to become an escort and that they paid really good...

coedescort(s)[email protected] I think they were...

Also had somebody offer to buy my used underwear/lingerie for money here...they both got my e-mail address here off of MM because I post it on my profile page...

I have only been a member for 2 months so both these incidents are very recent

OH YEAH, GET THIS...the perv that wanted to buy my used lingerie was "a friend of somebody on MM, and he saw my pics when the friend was scrolling looking at models"  but he refused to give me his friends MM#...the escort service just sent me one big email but wasnt pushy like the underwear guy.

This aryka101 guy uses a few different names, but the talk is always the same.
He always claims he isn't a photographer (convenient, doesn't have to show any work), claims he just hires (yeah, that's how top publications find their model on AOL LOL!). Always mentions the same 3 or 4 magazines.

If you take the bait, he then wants you to send him nudie pics and then come audition for him (scary).

You really need to report him.

Wow this whole forums kinda scary.... anywho the whole message thing I dont think you guys should put your messengers on your pages since its causing some trouble..if someone on MM is interested in working with you they can tag or message you here and if they find talking on a messenger easier than phone or messaging back and forth threw MM than give the messenger address out.

I didn't know how bad women get it..... I wish you guys didnt have to get it so badly

Oh please... that guy is local to me and I've read more details of that case than I care to.

Don't sully someone's name before they've been convicted of a crime.

Latest on the case: http://www.roanoke.com/news/nrv/wb/wb/xp-74811

Not only does the guy have crappy lawyers that can't win motions to save their lives, but he's being railroaded by the court and prosecutor in to a trial where he has no advantage what so ever.

Innocent till proven guilty is a long gone idea in this country.
