PWC = Perv with Camera (You know you are...)

GWC = Guy with Camera, (Novice/Amateur photographer, but not a perv)

PPWC = Pro Perv with Camera (Still a perv, but damn, you're a good photographer!!!)

AWC = Artist with Camera (tasteful, artful, thought provoking ART WORK that may or MAY NOT involve nudity).

This way models know right away what we're dealing with...

If a moderator reads this, then maybe set up a grading system (like EBAY) for models and photographers....stars or whatever...

if a model sucks, doesn't take direction, no-shows, etc, she gets no gold stars!

etc. etc. you get my point

I'm tired of being a photographer. Too much responsibilty.

Where can I apply for a GWC card? Is it expensive?
Will I get laid if I show it to models?
Are there annual dues?

Do I have to go to Ahole university, to learn how to lie convincingly?

Damn. Now it's starting to sound like too much work.

I think I want a PPVC card... it sounds like fun, with a tad of respect.
(but shouldn't it be PPWC?)

O, by the way, according to my new PPVC card, if a model sucks, she gets a lot more than a gold star.

If we really need a photographers 'caste system' then what about a modeling one.  I mean we cant seem to live without labels. wink

MSM=MySpaceModel (this goes for anyone that has a picture of them standing in front of the mirror with a camera, l33tspeak, the "angles", etc)
CTA=Comment/Tag Addict (note: sometimes they are also MSMs as well)
MC=Model Curious (those trying to get educated facts about the biz)
STM=Spart Time Model (for those that do this as a hobby and/or part-time)
HCM=Hard Core Model (those that live, eat and breathe modeling)

It said something along the lines of "I'm a professional and I'll help models build their portfolios.  Don't tag me or leave comments; this isn't Myspace."

Real friendly for a site that's supposed to have a myspace/friendster-like feel, right? Haha.

Love It!!! LMAO! What About Male Models? We need some kind of system as well...

GWB - Guy With Body (could be dumb as hell but who cares!)
GTIAOG - Guy That Is Afraid Of Gays (will suspect any photographer offering them a shoot is gay and wants them)
...

Lets see some more!

Miz:

GWC is a common term used here and some other modelling sites.  It truly means Guy With Camera and is used in a derogatory way, often used to mean just a guy that wants to see nekkid gurls.

All the other acronyms were just made up by the OP (original poster) and is not considered a standard term.  In hopes you do not go around using them and confusing the sh*t out of a lot of people!!!     smile

Some people use GWC synonymously with pervert, some with amateur, etc.

The day I hear an art buyer, AD (art director), or ad agency use this term I will close my business and move on to day trading.

I've read a lot of the GWC forums and it seems there are a lot of decent photographers who are novices that are getting a bad rap....the purpose of this thread was to create discussion and maybe come up with a new term that isn't deragatory to those GWC who are just starting out, and maybe poking a little fun at each other...

From the Photographers posts (some of whom are HILARIOUS), it seems like we need to come up with some standard terms for models, too!!!  Me, I'm a PTM (part time model)....(yeah, sometimes I blink, too!)

A standard set of terms would be nice... but it won't happen on MM.  I enjoyed the humor too, but I wanted to make sure Miz understood the thread.

I too would be shocked if I heard an agency use this term, but who knows... maybe in a few years!!!

Don't bother with day trading, its for suckers (not that I'm speaking from experience, ahem)... I'd rather play in WSOP... ALL IN!
