This shot,  taken by Tiffany B's mom shows(permission given so far)
What the average cast looks like on many a commercial shoots across america.

The beauty is not hightened by down played.
The sexyness is gone.
You are there to look average.
But a beautiful average.
Fashion models often look like aliens from space.
Commercial models look like your hot neighbor.
Something to think about.

The commercial photographers I work with all have like this, you know, high end equipment, 4-5 lighting set ups, and enough equipment to travel and take pictures of 'average' commercial models. One of the commercial photographers I know makes the biggest money on things like Cialis flyers. God bless usage rights.....

Also, they bill so much because they have 1/2 a million dollar studios. Half their money goes towards rent and the other half goes towards equipment upkeep.

So you are saying that you take home more money?

Heh...having to personally listen to the creative director bitch (I was assisting her) on the three days we were fogged in during that shoot, I get a much more clear idea of what a creative director actually sees when they look at the world during the shoot.

Each polaroid handed to him/her is like a price tag...
CD: "Hrm...this roll cost me $4,000..."
Photog: "I think we got that!"
CD: "Shoot another roll for me just to make sure, mmkay?"

Shouldn't there be a few assisants, stylists, ADs and MUAs there too?

In my limited expereince with commercial work, they're just not professional if you don't have a dozen people around all stepping on each other's toes.

They were all standing next to me.

There's about $15,500 worth of day rate and $3,000 worth of equipment standing directly behind me.

These are rough:
Snow AD: $1000/day
Shoot AD: $1000/day (staff, freelancers are much more)
Snow artist: $500/day
Photographer: $4500/day
1st assistant: $300/day
2nd assistant: $150/day
Makeup & Hair artist (one person people...ONE): $800/day
Stylist: $1200/day
Male Model: $2000/day
Female Model: $4000/day

On some days we also had a very well known female model (she appears in my port site) who gets over $500,000/day

EDIT: Forgot...
2 Snowmobile drivers: $100/day each
Snow Cat driver: $300/day
