GWC = Guy With Camera

usually denotes someone who doesn't really know anything about photography, but likes to pose as or pretend to be a photographer in order to take photos with models with intentions which may or may not be lewd, but are cetainly not professional.

It stands for Guy With Camera.

Aka Jerk with Camera.

He's a 'photographer' who has no desire to keep in mind what the model thinks.  Sometimes seen a pervert as, to him, panty shots and boobs are what make up ZE BEST portfolio.


(( sorry, I'm ranting.  I had a run-in with one here last year...... while the matter was settled without cursing, we just couldnt agree ))

If he doesn't let you bring an escort or guy-friend, chances are he's a GWC.  Most professional shoots I did in Colombia there were light specialists, MUA, photo-assistants there, etc....asking to be alone with the model=GWC

The GWC acronym describes a person that owns a camera, but the main objective is not to create photos, which would warrant the term "photographer".

The GWC's ("Guy With Camera") sole objective is to get laid, to get dates or at least to see boobies, by using his camera.

Please make a note of that difference!

The distinction between most professional photographers and many amateur photographers is not the quality of their work, but the source of income... both should be expected to conduct their photoshoots in a "professional" manner.
