Photographic Narrative, 5 Pics better than one?
A few years ago I came to realize that sometimes more than one photograph can tell a better story than one. In most cases I have discovered the magic number is 5. I do portrait sessions with children and adults and I throw at them the idea of the narrative, as I call it. I make my photos or giclées never bigger than 4x5 and I have a mat made with five openings. I can charge what I want because there is no competion in this sort of thing. I will post below some examples and one that is a bit more risque. Has anyone done this sort of thing? If you have I invite you to post them here. Each frame has 4 shots of a kid printed onto a roughly 6"x24" paper. The whole thing was under a single mat. These were circa 1962...ish. They weren't so much about a story, but I always liked them as portraits. Jul 21 06 01:01 am Link alexwh wrote: Alex - these are lovely!!!
