Not sure if this the correct forum or not (MODs feel free to move as necessary), but...

I'm looking to see if anyone in NYC has any old/dead/unwanted cell phones, pagers, PDAs, hand held devices that they are willing to donate to a photographer looking to use them as props.  There is a good possibility that they will be dismantled, shattered, etc, so please don't expect them back.  :-D

Call a prop shop...

I'm sure it won't cost you too much to rent one for a day or two.

Maybe a radio shack or a Verizon shop?  Maybe you can promise them a royalty free professional image usable for their purposes in exchange for the use of their exchanged cellphones.

A lot of retailers use  non working dummies for display and once the item is discontinued it is trash that is not often quickly discarded, trys ome of the electronics stores, I got a dummy cell phone,pda and digital camera that way
