Photographer taking credit for my work
Check this out. http://www.pmpmyllc.com/private.html (18+) In the group of five, the picture in the center and lower right are mine. http://www.kruegerphoto.com/fig9.htm (18+) http://www.kruegerphoto.com/fig27.htm (18+) If you look on the lower left, my name appears in tiny print below the menu. I don't consider that a credit for the pictures since she gives her own email address as the "Photographer". Sucks, donit? -Dave Jul 12 06 05:03 pm Link Social pressure.... let's send email and ask for credit and copyright notice. Jul 12 06 05:06 pm Link Send an invoice...about 12 years ago i was driving downtown Vancouver and my wife sitting in the passenger seat...freaked right out!..."turn the car around, isn't that your image on the Bill Board" to make a long story short, invoice was paid within 2 months $15000.00 Jul 12 06 05:14 pm Link I sent a nasty message: From: Dave Krueger To: [email protected] Sent: Wednesday, July 12, 2006 8:47 PM Subject: Your use of my work Some of the images you have on the below webpage are copyright protected material created by me. Furthermore, the implication that you are the producer of those works can be construed to be fraud. http://www.pmpmyllc.com/private.html Please remove them immediately. In fact, I suggest you remove all unlicensed copyrighted material from your site(s). Dave Krueger ------------------------------------------ Huntsville, AL http://www.kruegerphoto.com [email protected] 256-881-5481 Jul 12 06 09:02 pm Link That's just lower than low. People just hate be honest these days I hope everthing works out for you in this situation. Jul 12 06 09:36 pm Link Their web site looks kind of cheesy Jul 12 06 09:37 pm Link That is crazy. I do not know how another " photographer" could call your work theirs. Glad you found it. PS. WOW ~ they have a real sad, sad website. I would not hire them to clean my apartment. Good catch. I did the domain search, but I'm not very good at interpreting the results and I didn't know about that policy page or the address to complain to. I will give them a day or two to shut it down and then contact yahoo. Jul 12 06 11:14 pm Link makes me wonder where my photos are.... Jul 12 06 11:31 pm Link that's why i always put my watermark on my photos. i have seen others steal my work before also and they even took the time to edit out my watermark. but they weren't claiming it as theirs but they used it for their layout for their personal website... Plus they continuously do a web crawl looking for your work out on the internet and can tell you where its at and send you a report, so you know who is attempting to use it. Jul 13 06 10:47 am Link biatch slap ? Jul 13 06 10:48 am Link do screen shots of the offense. are your copyrights registered? i know a good photographer/attorney Jul 13 06 10:55 am Link Darrell wrote: That's about 10 minutes from my house - should I pay her a visit? Sit outside her house and take a pic of her? Approach her Hard Copy style? Jul 13 06 04:38 pm Link Sleepy Weasel wrote: That sounds like a great idea! LOL! But maybe we should give her a little time to take them down first. Jul 13 06 05:20 pm Link Replys from the person in question: ---------------------------------------------------- REPLY 1: I am so Sorry! They were sent to me by another source as theirs!!!!! I am not happy about that at all and will remove immediately. Again, I am sorry. ---------------------------------------------------- REPLY 2: Dave, I really feel terrible. The update to the PMP site should take place when my server re-boots...photos removed and I have also put a link to your webpage on my site for "superior photo gallary." I have left a message for the gentleman who sent me the photos (yours, and they are the only ones I did not shoot myself)...a "so-called" friend, he had requested he "support" me in some of my very amatuer photography. Again, please know how very sorry I am, as it is not my character to ever pass off works of art as my own...I only thought I was helping another person in providing some advertisement for him!!!! I am humbled by your work and would never put myself at that level of artistry. ---------------------------------------------------- Ok, I guess I don't get it. First of all, if she's not a character to ever pass off works of art as her own, why does her website clearly imply that she's the photographer? Secondly, why is my name in tiny print off to the left if she thought they were the work of this "gentleman" who sent her the pictures? Third, why does she have to wait for her server to reboot for the changes to take effect? That's not how my web host works... Forth, she's saying this other gentleman requested that he be able to support her in her amateur photography by supplying her with pictures that weren't hers, but then she says she thought she was helping him with some advertising. Fifth, she says except for mine, all the other pictures are hers. Only two are mine and I'd venture to say that at least three others are stolen as well since they do not look amateur. She probably doesn't know which are mine, although she has visited my website twice today... I think it would have been less insulting to my intelligence if she had just taken them down without the attempts at explaining her innocence. For the most part, it doesn't bother me. A lot of people even provide links. But, when someone else is taking credit for them or using them inside a paysite without my permission, I get pissed off. Anyone ever heard of a webhost that works like that? Jul 13 06 06:13 pm Link Why did she/they even bother to credit you at all? Yours is not the only photos on there that are lifted. I have seen another one of the images thats on there somewhere else. I never forget a picture, but I wish I could remember the photographer so that I could tell them that there image is being used without their permission. -Bryan Jul 13 06 06:32 pm Link Bryan Patrick Coleman wrote: I'm not sure I'd agree that she's crediting me with anything. Her site says in a large font Contact Photographer for information and gives her email address in the underlined link. Jul 13 06 06:39 pm Link Yeah, send in Sleepy Weasel to 're-boot' her server. What a load of BS. Over in the stylist section we would have surrounded her house by now! lol At least you are taking it in stride. Jul 13 06 07:10 pm Link Ive had several images stolen over the years. One guy thought it would be cool to use one to sell tickets to a fashion show in New York on ebay lol. Turns out it wouldnt have been worth it to take him to court because he did it with Paramount Pictures as well. Bye the time they got through with him there wasnt anything left. I have also put a link to your webpage on my site for "superior photo gallary." Why? Jul 13 06 10:42 pm Link She's online right now... check this out; Hi Carlos, I have sent a message to Dave K. and I let him know how very sorry I was. I was sent the photos from someone (a "so-called" friend) who said he would help me support me in my amatuer photography. I am in the process of getting my site shut down. I am terribly sorry - I do not and would not try to use anyone's superior talents (as his are) to pass off as mine. Thank you so much...as soon as I can my site will be down. Pam Carlos Arturo Velarde wrote: Knowing two of the images you have on the front page belong to my friend Dave Krueger, how can anyone know that you're actually a good, or at least half-decent photographer? As far as anyone can tell, one misrepresentation means all of them are misrepresentation and furthermore COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT! Dave has been notified and a copy of this page saved as proof for his lawyers. Jul 13 06 10:56 pm Link |
