Hey guys,

I have a shoot coming up tomorrow and I had an idea of taking a pic with me in a bikini with dirt/mud but I have not a clue weather to:

Buy the dirt and wet it.
Dig the dirt and wet it.
AND
Where (location) to shoot it.

So I'd appreciate it if you guy's can post some pics or tell me some ideas. I NEED IT!!! big_smile

go with clay... it sticks way better and therefore you have more control over it. mind you, wet clay just sucks the heat out of a person so make sure that you have either a tough model or a warm place...

Ive done several mud shoots (middle 2 rows http://lastdarknight.deviantart.com/gal … &offset=24)
The easies way is buy a bag of top soil at lowes or Home depot its like a buck or 2 for a 20-40 lb bag
u really only need a pound to cover ur body
I have that bag and have done several shoots off the same one lmao (Cheapest...shoot....EVER)
I would suggest using "regular" outdoor dirt or as the models called it "piss dirt" as u dont know whats happen to it lol

Coffee grounds also make for excellent dirt if the real thing is uncooperative.

Buy dirt
You NEVER know what is in the stuff on the ground
Simply bring some in a 5 gallon mop bucket & add water as needed. You can use any number of things to apply it.
Also, I am assuming since you're African America you use lotion or oil to keep your skin from being ashy. Don't use anything the night before or morning of the shoot as it will affect the look of the dirt & its ability to stick to your skin.

Get clay from an art store or a ceramics distributor. It's also probably about 1 to 2 feet under your soil if you live in an area with standing water when it rains.

That kind of clay isn't great for the skin
You're better off with Fuller's Earth from the hardware store
It's what they used in the original "mummy" movies to make them look dirty smile
Spas use it in mud baths as well

Okay both sound great but the soil seems that it will not stick to me very well

and

I have searched for that type of clay and it doesnt look like i'll be able to find and purchase it today for use tomorrow.

I heard that i should make it from someone???
