I bought a $3.50 polaroid disposible from Wal-Mart (the very cheapest they had)just a night before Justin posted his thread. Alas, I'm still on the 12th frame. At this rate, I don't think I'll finish the roll before the deadline. That said, I wouldn't mind being a judge though.

However, thinking about it, I agree that I should define and loosen the lighting consideration a little bit.  I would change the allowed lighting equipment to the on-camera flash of the disposable camera, and table lamps, halogen worklamps, but no hotlight above $100 (namely Lowel Totalight etc).  I think this would make it a reasonably good challenge while allowing everyone to try it.

How about instead of the $100 cap, just say that you can't use anything that was designed specifically for photography/stage/etc? If I wanted to use the head lamp of my car, that's way over $100.

I like that idea... that the only artificial light avail is what most average joes would have around (head lights, desk lamps, work lamp, pen light etc lol)

This seems like a good medium ground,
Fair to all.
Time to break out the home depot lighting.
I like it!
Back to the attic with me.

(although it would have been cool to use a photo trigger to marry the studio flash to a $3.00 dollar camera flash. Hmmm.... I may still try that just for shits and giggles)

I am pleased to announce that a distinguished group of artists have kindly agreed to be the judges to this little competition.

- Sean Armenta
- Karl Blessing
- Christopher Bush
- Daguerre
- Marksora

I have no doubt that everyone would agree that this diverse group consists of all highly accomplished professionals in their  fields.  I am very pleased that they would lend their credibility to this challenge.  Thank you all.

Game on, people!  You have two more weeks!  smile  I can't wait to see what you all come up with!

Ok, people, you have two more weeks to do this.

The deadline is August 1st.  See who can get the prize out of my hands.

Make sure you read the rules in the first thread (it's been updated).

Also, Marko is back, and he has agreed to become our sixth judge on our distinguished panel.

Should note that when this is all said and done, I'll be building a page on thebokeh.com for people to view the submissions, with possibly judges comments under each one, ordered by the winner first (with a brief bio under, and pic if avail), then runner ups (small pic next to linkage), then everyone else (textual link of photog's name). The link can either be to the photographer's homepage or page of choice, or to the photographer's MM profile.

Only a few more days to go people.  If you need scanning help, PM me asap.

I will start an image posting thread in a day or two.

Models, bug your photographers.  This is an ultimate test in talent, with a group of very credible judges looking at the images.  And there are PRIZES!
