Seems lots of photographers here think they're better than pornographers, but I'd bet money that many have shot something pornographic at one time or another.  Granted, there is a difference between an occasional step over the line and doing it for a living, but I'm curious how many have ever shot something they considered over the line, even just a little bit.  Maybe it wasn't premeditated.  Maybe it just happened in the creative moment.  Maybe the model gave the camera more love than you planned.  Or on the other hand, maybe it was premeditated, gratuitous porn.  Either way, anyone willing to fess up?

I'll start. I have, both unplanned, just keying off the model, and planned, as in discussed ahead of time with the model (though it was her idea).  I don't intend to make a habit out of it, but I'd do it again with the right model.

Anyone else?

EDIT: It was just pointed out to me that you could ask the same question of models, though you're probably not likely to get many of them "fessing up."  Regardless, models feel free to answer as well!

I'll shoot porn over a wedding ANY day of the week, even though there is far more money in weddings.  There are no bridezillas or bride's mothers in porn, and that alone makes it worthwhile.  Not the reason to shoot it mind you, but worthwhile at the very least.

To date it's always been unplanned, but at the time seemed like a good idea.  Luckily good taste has spared the world from my bad cheesy 70s like porn type pictures.

I've shot what I'd call "porn" twice. The first time was years ago, and it was also my very first paid shoot. We shot it on black and white so I could develop the film myself, and she bought several prints. The idea was to take some very explicit photos that she could send to her boyfriend living in Washington DC. She had very specific ideas on what she wanted, and it wasn't difficult working with her (she was an acquaintance of mine). The pics really didn't turn out all that well; I thought they were overly contrasty and I could do a much better job now after gaining a bit more experience. Still, it's rather odd that my first commission would be porn... go figure. wink

And the second time the photos weren't really porn, but they were rather explicit. They were taken during a photo session at the model's request; she was thinking of doing adult modeling and wanted some samples for her book. Actually, they really weren't all that bad; I even ended up liking a couple of them. The ironic thing now is while the model is still on a couple modeling sites she no longer has "nudity" as an area of interest.

While porn isn't something I have an interest in shooting myself, if a client requests it I wouldn't really have a problem shooting it. There isn't much I haven't seen already anyway.

I don't tend to think of my nudes as erotic (though many would disagree).  At least, they are not intended to be.  But there have been some that I think cross the boundary I have set for my own work.  The one in my port called "Maria" comes to mind.  Long story, but basically the only way to save that shoot was to severely crop the images, resulting in an image that was more erotic than I would have intended, but powerful and compelling in it's emotional content.  The kiss photo in my "people" montage is another.  The model suggested it, I went along and I was very pleased with the results.

Reviewing my work, I probably cross the aforementioned line more than I'd like to admit.

Back in 1972/73 I shot many girl/girl sets....needed the money...got paid very well....work was for private collectors......can't say I'd do it again....regardless of the money......I like my family client base and won't risk losing that and my rep for money.....besides....porn gets so boring.....no creativity involved at all.....

I used to model for porn, some of which I shot myself.

I haven't shot porn of anyone else though.

Yep, both infront and behind the camera, (though I must say I suck behind the camera LOL).l

It would be more useful, for porn, if you did so in front of the camera.

Hard to say, really.  Never had any stolen or bought by porn paysites or aggregators, but I've tried to make the work as likely to get women wet (difficult) and men hard (easy) as possible.

I have been asked to shoot for what I consider to be porn sites, but I'm not comfortable with doing the multiple sequences they all wanted.

If it were on my own terms, I'd be happy to give it a try though.

I have shot specifically for Nerve.Com.  Does that count?
