Jul 04 06 07:36 am Link I am always looking for deals around tampa and I will keep an eye out for your stuff. That kills me when stuff like that happens. Mike Jul 04 06 07:44 am Link That Look Photo wrote: Yeah....I'm here too, so I'll look in a few pawn shops I know. Jul 04 06 07:48 am Link Doug Swinskey wrote: I still had the "good stuff" on me. I normally pack it all away as soon as the shoot ends. Fortunately I didn't do that this time and I'm still in the game. Fate smiles. Jul 04 06 10:52 am Link i watched CSI miami...they can have your shit back within an hour...they are good. Jul 04 06 10:56 am Link BCG wrote: I know the head of CSI in Las Vegas. Maybe I can get Dan to come out here. Jul 04 06 10:59 am Link Actually Craig, I believe there are parts of Ybor that have the cameras in the light polls, you might wanna check and see if you were around any of those areas... We will check around St Pete area pawn shops too..... Jul 04 06 11:03 am Link I hope you had good insurance covering everything. I've got my gear covered under a State Farm "Personal Articles Policy." 100% exact replacement No deductible, no depreciation covers Pro usage covers any form of loss Tomorrow I'll be taking them a handful of invoices to add several new pieces of gear purchased in the last few weeks. It's great peace of mind. Sorry for your loss. Jul 04 06 11:04 am Link Jim Ball wrote: I've been with State Farm for years and thought I was covered. Agent says "not". I will see about having this added to my policy. Thanks~! Jul 04 06 11:12 am Link You left that laying around at a Goth convention? Goth like it real real dark, easy to snatch away a bag from a camera man. Sorry to hear that. Jul 04 06 11:15 am Link Craig Seay Artistry wrote: Yeah, the Personal Articles is a completely separate policy from their Homeowners or auto policies. It can also be used for computer equipment. There are two coverages--amateur and pro. If you have the amateur policy and drop your camera off the balcony at a wedding shoot for which you are being paid, it will not pay. The pro coverage is more expensive, but worth it. Jul 04 06 11:19 am Link EdwinR Photography wrote: Thanks Ed and Dessie for your offers to help. I greatly appreciate your friendship. The cops didn't mention cameras in this area but I'll check in to it. Jul 04 06 11:20 am Link modaphoto wrote: I know a lot of goth people and non of them would steal, I know it in my heart. I wasn't shooting a convention. I'm sorry for the miscommunication. Jul 04 06 11:40 am Link bump Jul 04 06 04:43 pm Link I'll check the 2 pawn shops I know in Brandon, maybe something will turn up. Jul 04 06 04:48 pm Link Craig Seay Artistry wrote: That SUCKS. I, too will watch. Will also make a call to a friend who owns several pawn shops in area. I use State Farm personal policy to cover my gear, along with artwork, jewelry and my tools when I had my racecar. All were worth more than my homeowners covered. Jul 04 06 04:50 pm Link Bait and switch...hmm...nothing to do with it???? No good deed goes unpunished... Maybe it wouldn't have happened if you were more of an asshole. (my feeble attempt of making light of this situation) Just remember...equilivent extange(basically karma) or you can think that you just got shit on...the mind is a funny thing-and you control your take on this. I hope you had insurance.?. Jul 04 06 04:52 pm Link Craig, Forwarded list to pawn friend. Don't know if it'll help, but it's something. ~Tom Jul 04 06 04:54 pm Link Maybe put a "wanted" in Craigs list for one of the items. see if someone offers you your stuff, then call me and we'll go beat the living s--t out of them with a tripod. Jul 04 06 04:57 pm Link McKenzie Bros Photo wrote: I need this experience for some reason so I will embrace it. There is some good in all of this for sure. Thanks for the edification. Jul 04 06 04:57 pm Link bump Jul 04 06 05:49 pm Link I'd be interested to know the circumstances surrounding the theft - where was the equipment, were you present (snatch and run), etc.. For all of us that shoot in Ybor, this could be valuable information. I'll keep an eye out as well. Jul 17 06 04:03 pm Link Dude that so sucks sorry to hear that... damn rouge has no idea what to do with the stuff he took I know i'll be more careful with my stuff... ~David Tallahassee, FL Jul 19 06 11:36 am Link |
