I was just wondering, how many of you photographers sell your stock photos to these large photo warehouses, if so, do you get a pretty good percentage of the sales. These sites tend to sell photos at expensive prices.

Say for example, right from the site. 10 MB RGB 5" x 7.5" @  300 dpi JPEG      $199.95 US and that is for any picture.

iStock sells pictures from 1-5 dollars up to 2000x3008 pixels. If you have a Mark II or you scan from medium format, I think they can sell for up to 10 for XXL-sized (16 MP) images.

So definitely nothing like you just quoted, at least for iStock.

Generally speaking, an 80/20 to 60/40 split are common (with the photographer getting the lower number). Dissolvegirl is correct about Istock (for non-exclusive photographers the typical sale is around 20-40 cents).
