Please
![big_smile](//assets.modelmayhem.com/images/smilies/big_smile.png) Great someone younger and ambitious wants my trade secrets that its taken me over twenty years to master. Sure I'll be giving those up just as soon as Col.Sanders whispers the 7 secret KFC ingredients into my ear from beyond the grave. But seriously try getting a job shooting for the wire services like Wire Image,Getty images etc.

I'm not much a journalist, so the wire services aren't my cup of tea, but I could give them another shot I suppose. Thanks for the advice ![big_smile](//assets.modelmayhem.com/images/smilies/big_smile.png)

Asking me over and over how I could not believe in God (one of the stylists mentioned to her that I was a devout atheist. And she made in her job to try to save this photographers soul, both before and after our shoot. But how was she in front of the camera? BTW - I think the stylist set you up...

Closest I come to a famous person in front of my lens is Gail Elliot who appears in my port on my site. James that's more like it! A couple of things. Most of my pictures I took by shooting for newspapers, weekly arts tabloids and city magazines. They have the access. This is what you need even if editorial sometimes does not pay a lot. If you shoot stills for movies (as many do in Vancouver) you have very little access to your "own" pictures and you can't do what I do here and show them. Since I shot mine on an editorial basis the second rights revert to me after publication. Most of the pictures here were taken with a Mamiya RB and a 140mm lens. My film was either Plus-X or Ilford FP-4. Most I took in hotel rooms including the one of Annie Leibovitz. I shot all with a 3x4 Chimera and one, two or three Dynalite heads. In my very portable box I carry a set of 5 Balcar grids and two holders for them. I sometimes use my homemade optical spotlight that fits over my Dynalite head (the picture of Dennis Hooper and Candice Bergen). When you have to work fast you have to make up your mind the one thing you can do after you eliminate all the other possibilities. To work faster I have an Arca Swiss ball tripod head. I can move my camera instantly with one knob. It saves time. I carry a Polaroid back with 664 as the b+w is a 30 second wait while the colour at 90 seconds is much too long. Here is a shot of Gene Simmons in which I used grid spots. Alexwh
