I've noticed the same thing regarding anything to due with nudity or sexual topics, it's also evident when you look at a models portfolio and she has 18+ category, there is always excessive views on the shots that are revealing as opposed to regular shots.

Also, the ongoing support the models get from the photographers to do nudes and the requests and endorsements of the same. It has been my opinion from the start that a high percentage of participants here have a vested interest or agenda that ultimately result in shooting nudes, viewing nudes and/or discussing nudes. I maintain that a certain element of these folks are using their "easy-to-use" digital camera's as a tool to participate in activities that include sexy young girls, activities that ordinarily (under normal circumstances) would not allow them the privillage to even get close to these girls. They are also the one's who have all the advice and coaching, all the opinions about an industry that only a few years ago was not even available to them.

It's relatively easy these days for men to buy a nice camera, learn the basics and hang out a shingle that self proclaims them as being a; "Photographer" , (yet they lack any experience or  real background in the industry). I have also noticed that if a model has a legitimate concern or guidelines regarding their involvement in nudes or not wanting to do TFP shoots, suddenly they are bombarded with negative posts and threats of blacklisting them. I think it's safe to assume, given their priorities they would have every model doing nudes, for free (TFP) and owning all the rights, plus having "sex" as a part of the photo taking ritual.

Just my observation...

Photography is essentially documentary.

Most interesting documents are those that document the rare.

Nudity *in this society* is rare.

Hence interesting correlates strongly with nude.

INTERESTING!! That may be why I have a strong interest in Eroticsim. In USA it is rare. Raw sex is not rare, but sublime eroticism is.

We gotta face it people--there is an exaggerated interest in sexually oriented photographs on MM.

Uuuuuuhm, maybe because most humans are really really interested in sex? I mean, when you've got shelter, and food, sex is item #3 on the list. So, hmmmm... you have a predominantly male population who, (by definition, if they own computers and cameras, etc) are well-fed and comfortably seated in sheltered locations. Are you trying to tell us you've just discovered something earth-shattering?

"Twisted" is a value-laden word to use for a topic that's as straightforward as simple biological impulses to reproduce. I've always been amazed at how society tries to treat basic urges as if they're somehow under the control of a higher-level function. Mmmm.. yeah, right. Twisted is trying to act like you're above sex. Most social anti-sexual pressures are a result of leftover religious doctrines that might have had some social utility thousands of years ago but nowadays are completely irrelevant, since we can control (but don't) our birthrate artificially and we understand sexually transmitted diseases.

I couldnt agree more.
BTW-- I like "Alexis" in your port, but it looks like the size of "Meme" takes the cake for most views.

Uh, you didn't understand. Our biological imperatives to reproduce are going to affect us whether we're surfing ModelMayhem, watching CNN, or taking a dump. And, of course, they are going to affect how we perceive things, and what we try to do. So, yeah, a lot of the photography on this site involves nudity or primate sexual display. In case you hadn't noticed a tremendous amount of all the photography, anywhere does! And I'm not just talking porn.

(edit) Your lead in is that there is "an exaggerated interest in nude and sexual images on MM" - my observation is that MM member's level of interest in sexual and nude images pretty much matches humanity's level of interest in sexuality and nudity in general. Put differently, "what's your point?"

You're pretending to be surprised and shocked that a lot of the content on ModelMayhem is "twisted" toward sex? What, were you born yesterday? Or are you just playing dumb? Enough said?

I noticed this sort of thing in my own profile. I have one picture where I'm not wearign a shirt. It's not the best picture of me shirtless by any means but it's what I have. I have way more views on that pic than I do with the rest of my pics. I don't understand at all why someone would want to see me without a shirt but for some reason, you're right, most people go for the mostly nude aspect of MM.

Marcus,

If you had read my post on page two I think 10th from the bottom you might notice that I had not excused my self from or am above sex. Hell, it is eroticism, in a different light, that I seek in my photos. Did you even look at my photos?

what bothers me *here* is that there are far too many women whose unrealistic expectations are taken advantage of by voyeuristic "photographers."
~T~

I see this kind of sexist comment *here* far too often and it offends me.

I'm a nice guy. I'm a gentleman. I'm polite. I'm an artist. And I like nudity in my images. I don't like being stereotyped with the bigoted assumption that I'm a conniving predator out to take advantage of "poor, widdo, mindless women" who can't think for themselves and need some big strong man to protect them.

It's naive to suggest that women are any less predatory and aggressive than men.

Selfish, greedy and exploitative behavior is not gender specific. It's a matter of individual behavior. It's everywhere around us and it manifests itself in many ways.

We can jump into this food chain or elevate ourselves above it as a matter of personal choice. We can find good people and bad people anywhere.
