A nobody with 4,000 friends drops me a friend request. I've never heard of or from this clown before.

All of MM has been there, I know.  Howzabout we agree on a "Get lost" formatted response?

DOH!  I forgot about the milk of human kindness -- sharing.  Thanks for the reminder.

You know what. I accept just about everyone who sends me a request. The more links there are to my portfolio, the more people who will have heard of me. Popularity is just the one of the first steps to being world-renowned.

Think someone will dig through a pile of 4.000 friends and find your link in there?

Probably not, but it helps your search engine rankings. And it doesnt hurt.

OK, so while I was whining about it to y'all,
I GOT ANOTHER ONE.

I love the internet.

Anybody need any RZ67 stuff before it goes to eBay?

Does it?  Really?  (Not a wise-ass question, serious query.)

Delete, indeed.  Does the requester get any indication the recipient hit the delete link?  I've wondered about that.  I mean, I may not be terribly interested in becoming another notch on a 4,000-friend pistol grip... but on the other hand, I'm disinclined to add myself to an enemies list.

Does the delete key send a "declined" message?

aaarrrrggghhhh.  It's late in the evening, my wife is in Milwaukee at an art glass convention, and suddenly your book is thrust in front of me.

Am I spellbound?

Why, yes, actually, I am.

Hey yourself!  I'm moving on Sunday, so my shooting in Northern California is at an end.  (Well, except for my little sister's high school graduation, but I don't think that counts.)  wink  You're welcome to if you're ever visiting Southern California, though.

All the best.  I heard it through the grapevine: there's a lot of body talent in L.A.  Happy hunting.

I'll get down there, though.  You impress me big time.

I'll admit to being a nobody, but if you get a friend request from me its because I either like your work or want to work with you or both.

Friend requests on MM.  Off all the things to take seriously, this should not be on the top of anyone's list.  If you want to give the appearance of exclusivity, every time you get a request, roll a die, if you get a 3, then add them, otherwise, they are cut off without a word!!!!

Insincerity is a fault, in my opinion, not a virtue.  Leaving comments or tags or launching some sort of exchange of personality or craft takes a modicum of effort.  And then if there's some meeting of the minds, certainly the Friend link follows.

As for drunken complaints about egos, I don't think it's egotistical to recognize that I get treated like a number almost everywhere I go -- so do you, and so do the drunken whiners.  Do I have to accept being treated like a number on MM, too? Like Number 4,567?  No, I don't.  Just because somebody wants every MM avatar on their Friend page? Folks who show me a little personal attention can easily add me as a friend.  I always show a little attention and respect before asking to be a friend.Sometimes we all like a little kissing with our f---ing.

Hmm, Kizzy a nobody?  Interesting concept.  Has anybody seen this babe's book?  I have.  So I started sending her love letters.  But will she marry me?  NOOooooOOOOooo.

i agree somewhat....but then again, how hard is it to leave a comment or tag that you like the work? ive made it a point on my profile that i only accept friend requests to those who comment/critique as this is how i learn....

Kizzy, you do have an awesome port. I thought I should say that and as soon as they FIX THE MESSAGE THING.. I'll let you know also.

NOW, as far as friends..if its MySpace..you know MySpace is an intreresting business model (it sold for $6 million so someone is making buck. I have about 60 or so friends...most I knowin some form or fashion, but I also have to say that within a year I won't hear from most of them.

It is true that the more sites YOUR LINK is on the better your ranking is on most search engines although how they create their algorythm is secret and they change it all the time. What I really wish is that MM would let you rank your friends so that you can show those who you have worked with or want to help promote yourself.
