What can models claim as tax writeoffs during tax season?
Mileage? Gas? Tolls? Hair? Nails? Makeup? Wardrobe? Limo service to the shoot LOL!

Thank you for asking this question Mel. I have been wondering the same thing regarding photographers.

I've been writing off everything I legally can such as, gas,mileage,food,hotels,etc.,etc.

My accountant has warned me to lay off claiming every single new camera purchases every year though! :-p

You can practically write anything off if you have the receipt so prove it......don't know why you couldn't do the same with a new camera every year??......but I do know there are a couple ways of deducting mileage......I originally was going to deduct actual miles/gas price....but if I remember correctly I got more back using the IRS standard mileage deduction......you'll have to sit and figure it out both ways to find out in your particular case......I use one of those tax programs and go through it both ways......pick the best!

Well there is a short schedule or long schedule.
At my day job I am also self employed and I file with my husband so
it makes tax season a drag. I just use turbo-tax now.
