NOTE: I'm not asking for money. I'm only asking for ideas on how I could make money. I'm really desperate for ideas right now. sad

I thought I would be able to make this money in time with photoshoots, but many of the photoshoots I had canceled on me. As some of you know, I'm shooting a film this summer called Innocence Lost. I've been working pretty hard trying to make money to support this film, and now I'm just $120 short of what I need.

I know how to do photography, photoshop, image compositing, and even video compositing. Does anyone know how I could use what I know to make the money I need before the deadline, or know any people who could use my services? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you are good enough at the disciplines you stated, find a dozen or so new Ad or PR agencies just starting up and take on  some freelance work from those that need quick turnaround but are understaffed.

Chicago is also a large live theater town.  Contact directors that are in rehearsal and do the publicity stills for the show.  Equity theater requires actor stills in the lobby upon show opening and they all need those shots done.    It's easy and quick money...

ROTFLMAO!  i think he'll have to find a gwc...

in all seriousness--check out craigslist.org.  it's become a bit of crazy-ass flea market and part-time circus, but you can offer services for a quick turn around. finding work on there (someone else is posting for you to fill a job)  is too hard. too many people respond to ads.

i often sell stuff on cl locally because i don't have to deal with the bs listing fees and commisions of eBay.  and the right stuff on cl goes fast!

maybe won't work for this time, but next time you should try to get a producer for your films.

My credit cards are maxed out. I can't use them, and I need one to go on ebay. Good suggestion though.

It will work this time. I am going to make sure of that. If I have to sell every DVD in my collection I will to get the money I need for this film. That's my last option though.

Have you considered putting photography aside and getting a job?

If you're in a bind over only $120, I'd say it's time to rethink your cash flow situation.

If you're not freaked out by needles, you can sell your plasma.  I use to do it (and am currently going back to it), they'll pay you $20 for one hour, you can donate twice a week.  The place I go to does studies where they'll re-vaccinate you and then pay you additional money.  I don't know how old you are, but if you've had the small pox vaccination and are willing to be re-vaccinated, the paid $50/visit plasma (If you did 2 visits a week that's $100).  I did the Hep B study (had to get vaccinated for Hep B to go to high school, so that's how I qualified) and would make $60 for 2 visits a week.

I tried going a step further.  I tried selling my soul.
Unfortunately, they said it was worthless, so I remain broke.

I said it before, and I'll say it again - if all you need is $120, something's wrong.

Groovy?  With that tone I would say nevermind.  Those I suggested would likely send you packing back to the sixties...

No, thanks. I've already put my foot in my mouth once with the IQ comment. I should just go and delete that post.

He's not the "common folk." He's trying to make a film and sweating a buck-twenty! That's a serious disconnect; a large error-of-scale.

I agree with Chris on this.  If one is producing a film, even a low-budget film, and sweating over the financial equivalent of fifteen minutes of production work, something is definitely wrong.  Working with a margin of error that tight doesn't seem common at all.

That takes time to be checked out, tested,  and verified.   Yes,  I looked into it but that is all.  Hey,  need to spread the love.

But to the question.   Go to a commercial or fashion agency and shoot models for 40 each or whatever cheap price you want to give.
The posters work is good enough to shoot for agencies.  shoot digital,  and progress.  Make money from what you are good at.

Or there is always Dog walking.

Back in the day when i first started to get my unemployment and it ran out. The state gives you or lets you get whats called General Relife funds but you have to work for those funds. My point is while working for my GR funds I meet a few intressting people. One guy would sell his food stamps and make extra cash from that an other guy would go straigh out of the G.R.Program stand on a cornor of a freeway exit and beg for cash his take home was around $200.00 to $300.00 on a bad day. This other guy would take his Gerneral Relife funds and food stamp money and buy tones of Oranges and bag them and sell each bag for $3.00 a bag He would invest about $60.00 Food stamp money and would get back around $300.00. Other ways to make some good cash is what I use to do when i first started out my photography. I would print all my work over at my local Jr. College use up all of their equipment and developer get my prints mounted and ready for sale. Yard sales that is i could sell alot of my work at yards sales people bought my stuff like Candy. enough for me to get a return and get a new camera. I sell on Ebay most of my work and some at Photography Gallaries. You just have to be creative enough or your gonna sink with the ship. Hope some of this info helps you. But come on $120.00 bucks is chump change. You can make that in 3 hrs bumming change from motorist at a gas station. There are a few Catholic Funding programs that help out Homelss people with some cash. If you look homeless enough you might get a few bucks from them Get a job for a week and you might be able to get that cash as well. Mow lawns.
