DO shoot with Paul Varela!
I recently shot with him, and got the most wonderful shots! I just wanted to commend him for his professionalism, and thank him for a great shoot atmosphere. I hope to work with him again, and just wanted to give my personal reccomendation to shoot with him. Great photographer! Check out the entire top row of my profile... all him, and I think even one more on the 2nd row. I'll post his MM # in a sec. -isis- Jun 07 06 01:34 pm Link OK Im either having a blonde moment or I just saw this guys name in 2 threads with multiple models saying he did not provide their images and has since disappeared? When I looked at his page there is only 1 image? Is this the same guy? Jun 07 06 01:37 pm Link Yes, same guy. He appears to be changing his portfolio at the moment, because normally he has like 20 shots. Not sure what's going on with the other models... but I am speaking from my experience with him- and it was a wonderful shoot, he is a wonderful photographer, that is that. Jun 07 06 01:39 pm Link Isis wrote: I am sure he would be a great photographer if he actually provided his models a cd of his work as promised. I shot with him on 4/28/06 in Las Vegas, NV and I still have not received my images. I have left him numerous emails and phone messages. He checks his messages but he never tells me when I will receive my photos. Glad you were able to get your pictures but I haven't gotten mine. Jun 07 06 01:39 pm Link Envy has Coke Jun 07 06 01:42 pm Link Isis wrote: I am sure that you are happy with him because you got your pictures. As for me I am still waiting. I just shot with a photographer on 5/27 and already have some new pictures. As for whats going on with Paul I am unsure why he is not able to get my pictures from our shoot on 4/28 but if there is something personally going on with him he needs to let me know. I have been in this business for years and have never had a photographer never supply me with a picture of work we did as he had promised. I am not the only one he has done this to. From my posts that I had made other models stated that he did the same thing to them. I guess your photographer is so perfect after all. Jun 07 06 01:44 pm Link OP- Great MUA work Jun 07 06 01:45 pm Link I shot with him in April as well.. I messaged him twice, and decided to wait. I think it's a matter of patience. I'm not trying to start anything... I'm just saying there are factors to consider... he shoots film, not digital... it takes longer to process. My point is, no need to flame the guy... who knows, your stuff could have been on it's way. Jun 07 06 01:53 pm Link It happens. I had a horrible experience with a photographer and ended up completely screwed but this persons page is full of tags like "great shoot yesterday" and "i loved working with you". Who knows lol. It happens and we move on. Jun 07 06 01:55 pm Link JM Dean wrote: i think it's gone. once the word is out, you know what happens... Jun 07 06 02:06 pm Link I finally just received a link with about 20 images. Finally!!!! The pictures should be ready next week. I just have never worked with someone that doesn't return my calls or messages. He does do great work! Just would appreciate a heads up or return email or something responsive. I did look at [Julianna's] pictures and wouldn't mind shooting with her; except I couldn't get pass the first line of her bio without developing watery eyes, itchy skins, and the urge to scream out loud while banging my head with the keyboard. I just watched Rush Hour 2 the other day, were you in the casino scene? Which casino was it filmed in? Jun 07 06 05:36 pm Link CLT wrote: Yes I was in the casino scene. It was shot at the Desert Inn which is no longer a Vegas casino. Jun 07 06 05:54 pm Link Julianna Ferguson wrote: See you got your images and you look great. Told you. Jun 07 06 06:01 pm Link Tony Lawrence wrote: He finally sent me a link to some of the pictures. I should receive the rest next week. Thats all I was asking for in the first place. Just something to hold me over till I got everything else. Thanks for your compliments! Jun 07 06 06:07 pm Link Julianna Ferguson wrote: Did he charge you for the shoot? Jun 07 06 06:16 pm Link Julianna Ferguson wrote: You never noticed it was in all caps? It was painfully obvious upon opening your profile it was in all CAPS. Jun 07 06 06:20 pm Link thisismyurl wrote: No he didnt charge for the shoot and nor was I paid. I also donated my time. I was told that I would have the pictures about 10 days after the shoot. If someone promises me something I expect them to follow through with it. Just like any normal person would. Come to find out he over shot and was shooting with many other models. He advised me he would have a link of the photos up by 5/25 and that never happened. I sent him numerous private messages and finally today received the link with some of the pictures and found out that I should receive everything else next week. But it took me publicly posting stuff to get that. Sucks to be the bad guy. But I wasnt asking for a whole lot. Jun 07 06 06:34 pm Link Envy wrote: I never quite paid attention to it. But I changed it for your viewing pleasure. Have a great evening!!! Jun 07 06 06:36 pm Link Julianna Ferguson wrote: Well now you know. I didn't read it honestly, it hurt my eyes. I'm sure a few photographers may have felt the same way. At any rate I'm certainly glad I could be of service. You have a wonderful evening yourself! Jun 07 06 06:39 pm Link Back to the original point, which was meant to be complimentary and NOT derogatory... ::ahem:: I had a wonderful shoot with a talented photographer. The joking around in here was funny. Was it necessary, however Julianna, to bring your qualms with the photographer into a thread I started? I mean, I can't stop you or anything as you are free to post what you want, but was there really any need for that? You apparently had a chance to tell your story earlier, in your own post on the matter. I wanted to post my personal experience with Paul- in a positive manner. Had I wanted it to be an attachment to your story- I would have posted in the thread you began. Beyond that, I would love to know what people think about the photos... Thank you for all of you who remained positive in this thread. Jun 07 06 07:48 pm Link Isis wrote: Yes, it was necessary to set the record straight about about my experience with Paul to-date. Unfortunately until today I could not get him to respond to any of my messages. I wasn't asking for much but just a few photos to hold me over until he was able to give me the additional cd and prints. Jun 08 06 12:52 am Link |
