Implied - suggested or insinuated - is when you may assume the model is totally nude, but may not be. Best example is a shot of a model (male or female) posing with a towel wrapped around the torso. Nothing can be seen, other than legs & arms; and that implies nudity.
Everything else that involves no clothing is nudity - that's when you get into the varying levels:
Artistic - Shears & props
Figure Modeling - Full nudity but has dramatic poses/lighting
Partial - just enough to keep the kids away
Topless - duh
Soft core - Playboy. Anything with soft focus, "R" rated parts turned away from camera.
Full/Full Frontal. Everything exposed but not graphic
Hard core (not to be confused with hard core porn) - spread shots, sexually suggestive poses.
