it depends largely on what i am shooting...i usually tend to try and play more ambient music...but more times then not i just pick a genre from within the ole ipod and let it shuffle away!

more times then not ill ask the model what he/she prefers...usually they don't care...so it lands on whatever i think will work for the shoot!

most of the shoots i've worked on were outdoors, so no music...
as for an upbeat CD to listen to, J Dilla, is a pretty good mixed cd...

really depends on who is in the shoot, in the studio...
