I can't agree with this. For instance, on Musecube I come across quite a few models that list erotic as an interest but not nude. I think these people understand that erotic photos don't have to be nude; there are many examples of non-nude erotica. And if I were to ever use the word "erotic" it would mean just that. I'm not interested in doing porn as you've described it "(i.e. "showing pink", "spreads", "objects inserted", etc etc)." Up to this point I don't think I've really done anything that I'd really consider to be erotic, let alone pornographic.

I think erotica to me is an image that has sexual energy, but is sensual and depicts the subject as a "real" person with a story and an identity. I don't know if that makes any sense; maybe I'll find better words later. But then again, photographs of calla lilies can be considered erotic for what they are hinting at...

  The plot thicks.

yes, ive browsed thru the musecube too, look in the miami area, most models that say "erotic" go on to describe that they are available for "solo", "G/G", "B/G" and "B/G/B".

i even found one model that said quote: "its ok, if the "B" in the "B/G" shoot is the photographer"

obviously its not all, but there is enough that consider that 'erotic=porn' so that its probably not a good idea for a model to say "erotica" in her bio.

I believe the element that turns and ordinary photograph into an erotic one is how it engages the mind. Nudity is often not required and often  takes away from an erotic
photograph. Our imaginations are allowed to fill in the blanks in any way we choose.
The photograph becomes much more personal and we come back to it time and time again without tiring of it. It's at this point that a sensual image becomes art.

Any more Descriptions?  Describe an image that's in your head.

I have been thinking the same question for a long time.  To me, I think an image that's sensual can be erotic.  I don't believe it has to show off all the parts of a body to be erotic.
