I saw "The case for paying models" and my brain switched it up, then realized that it does pay off to inspect models carefully before photographing them.

Is that right?? Have you really posted over 10,000 times? There must be some kind of award for that.

I had my desk chair bronzed.

It also pays to case locations.  I enjoy scoping out places and imagining angles and compositions without the pressure of having a team's expectations.

Boy Scout Motto: Be Prepared.  (Get it?  Location scouting?   Meh.)

As far as casing models, I'd like to know more about how photographers actually go about doing that. Do you look extra carefully at her porfolio? Check with others who've worked with her? Meet her beforehand to see how she looks in person and how she carries herself?
