First let me say I like MM its a lot of fun, but i find myself wanting to find a similar site minus the eyecandy and booty beauty. Once upon a time there was a site called sowear that was a bit more discriminating and dedicated to true fashion and actually had an approval process. Does anyone know of any sites dedicated to editorial fashion featuring models & photographers.

I agree that the "booty beauty" takes away from the site. Not that I don't love MM.

Once I updated my own website, with all the tears and new stuff I shot over the past 1 1/2 years, I consider signing up on there too.

My site is heading towards the fashion and editorial. This is one of the many things that I want to do. Yes I will evnetually do nudity, but it has to have some meaning behind it. All of this a$$ shots are cool, but they can only go so far, which isn't that far. I am a advertisement photography major currently in school, so it is a must for my site to have pro. and business enviornment but with my own personal touch and taste.

sowear was kinda cool while it lasted.  the internet has its limitations for fashion networking.  as a booker told me once, fashion people don't know how to use a computer.

No. This is the internet and its ruled by porn. If you would like to see fashion..go to the magazine rack smile

True the net is ruled by porn and soft porn (booty glamour) but there are some exceptions karinandraoul.com being one. I just want to find some more.

Brian put up a link to the Fashion Only Forum (FOF) which is kind of sort of a little secret that we mostly keep to ourselves, but you all are willing to lurk and post if you're willing to run the gauntlet (we tend to be kind of a tough crowd there). It's a forum though, not a portfolio site or image showcase.

Models.com basically markets itself as an internet portfolio site for fashion pros but it's kind of disappointing if you want most of the portfolios to truly be of "real world industry" quality in my opinion. Basically I'm with the crowd that the internet is for porn/glam/hobby/networking and communicating for fun. For the real world stuff, go to the newstand magazine rack to look, and test with agencies and make-up artists and stylists and so forth, as well as assisting, to get involved in the working side of that business.

Solomodels.com although not completely fashion, does have an approval process and you won't find the littering of GWC stuff... But then, it's not free either... smile

Models.com is probably it.

I used to stop by at Fashion Forum (http://www.duroi.com/fashionforum/) but it's too clickish and boring.

I love me to read some MM once in a while. I've been stopping by here only for a couple of months and see how it can get boring too.
