Well, in the June issue of Dirt Rider magazine, on stands now, I have about six pages of candid black and white photos starting on page 108. I'm pretty pumped about it. The opening spread is this shot of Tyler Evans resting after a race. I love the shot and let's just say that Tyler ain't exactly the easiest guy to shoot

For me it's all about the artists-with-cameras that I get to meet and create with.  The quality of those artists has recently become extremely impressive even by my standards, and the next year or so looks to have some amazing opportunities on the horizon, several of which are international.  I just love saying that.  International.  I'm thinking I should start pronouncing it with a vague accent, just to increase the mystique.

1. Doing Jada Pinkett Smith's hair (flown out to Detroit, she's on tour with her band Wicked Wisdom)

2  Being featured in The New York Times from being on a reality show called Making It Big (about up and coming Hair Designers, I placed 2nd)

saving the BEST for last....

3. Getting my Cosmetology license at age 37, I'm 39, that's a HUGE accomplishment for me being that I've been in the industry for 6.5 yrs.

i've seen wicked wisdom perform and i think the term 'band' has a misleading implication of musical prowess...

my accomplishment, though? managing to do as much photography as i've done in the last year while working fulltime and doing college fulltime.

and not starving.
and not killing my exes.
and not strangling my family.
and not crying myself to sleep every night.

I'm the most proud of discovering that my photography/art can help me to regulate my bipolar depression without pills...
This revelation came to me a few years ago when things were looking pretty dark and I was tempted to do a very foolish act.

i got published on the cover of 2 books ("Drama" & "Street Games"), a mag in NC, a small hip-hop mag (Don Diva), and just got hired to work under a celebrity photographer who shoots for Giant, all of this within a 7 month period, and i just started 3 years ago and i'm still a "beginner" by most standards and still have a long way to go... i'm proud of that because its the first time and i never expected all of that out of photography, i was originally supposed to do this for one year and go back to studying space and astrology.

Professionally.... I'll talk about my real day to day job..... I've managed to keep my own company afloat for the past 2 years.  I've landed the accounts of several great names and continue to do so.  I'd say that is pretty good considering I'm only 24......

Being on stage shooting one of the most popular Raleigh cover bands.
Becoming a Camera Store Manager before I reached 21.
Working for Outdoor Life Network before graduating High School.
Finding out what I want to do with my life without having to go to school to find it.

I know it's nothing huge compared to some of the others people have posted, but as a 21 year old, I am very thankful for where I am and how far I've come with my life. I can't wait to see what I do next.

Hmmm.....

Saving my next door neighbor and the other neohbor from three insane rottwielers using a cigarette lighter and WD-40.

Rescuing a girl from her dad who was raping her over a period of time then getting her back with her mom in another stae..

Saving the lives of numerous animals in the veterinary business.

Teaching myself to walk, talk, wipe my own ass and photo again after a stroke.

My second year anniversary last Sunday of a kidney/pancreas transplant and having had absolutrly no problems

There's other stuff but you'll have to read the autoBio.  wink

The (NotOnly)Black+White magazine feature.  It was the first real feature about me and my work and included a (substantially wrong) interview.  Nothing else published or sold has ever felt nearly as good, though many paid more and many had higher readership.

(The real credit goes to Molly of MJP Artists who repped me and did all the work back then.)

That said, there are many things that have been more fulfilling in my personal life that this doesn't even hold a candle to.  This is just a hobby.
