What's up with the GUY photographer's that don't give out the Female model info???  I've asked a few of them here on MM and they refused to give me the names and how to contact them or have them contact me for a photo shoot.

If you go to my portfolio you will see all the names and link to the models and agencies that they are with.

Why deny a model the opportunity to shoot with good photographer's?  Not that I'm say I'm any good...

Some models don't want their info given out whereas others are not on MM or any other public site.

I'll always ask the model if he/she wants a link from one of my public port sites to theirs.

Most say no.

If a photographer asks me for contact info, I'll forward it to the model once.

Of course you don't give out info directly to the Guy photographer!  But at least one can give the prospective guy photographer's info to the model and let her decide.  And btw, what is the percentage of a female model being in harms way?  99% of the female models I shoot come alone and even at my space at times.  So, go figure!

I feel it is wrong, because you aren't crediting the model. I think male photographers tend to feel they have a "relationship" with their models. Most models I have worked with would be offended if I didn't link back to their MM page because that is how they get work,

WTF is the "Guy Photographer" stuff coming from?

I see the same norms for "Chick Photographers" as well.

Fine, then you can give the eulogy at the models funeral after the Sheriff's Dept found her hacked up body from a psycho posing as a photographer and how sad it was that she wasn’t in that 1% of the models that bring an escort.

For me it is a liability issue. I won't even put people pictures on stock sites that demand the model's address and phone number as part of their release. Kind of a "need to know" thing with me. I do pass any inquiries that I may get on to the model.

Ed

Don't know about how it is in the USA, however, here in the UK if I have the models information on my database it is against the law for me to send that information to anyone without the models written permission.

You may get links, but that's it. I like to maintain the relationship that I have with the models I've shot. Giving away their personal information to a "potential" client could potentially ruin the relationship I have with them.

Soooo... if you want to contact them through me, the only way you will be able to do that is follow the links like everyone else.

I don't want models passing out my personal information to others without my permission, so I'm not going to do the same thing, either.

From my own experience, an email address or a link to a web site is the most models want given out. Second, you have to understand that many of the ladies seen in photos here, at least in my own experience,  are not models at all. Instead they contacted me for a shoot and signed a release so I can use the images we produced, but wish no contact from other photographers.
