I'm going to a fashion/lingerie workshop on Sunday. I'm new to this genre of photography and would like to study up a little.  What would be a good magazine/s for me to pick up to study the shots?

Thanks in advance.

the ole stand by... victorias secret!!    other than that.. it varies on the style you want to shoot...  if you want sexy slutty type work... look at FHM and Maxim... if you want tasteful classy.. go with vogue, W, V, these types don't typically feature lingere, but have ads.  I don't know of a magazine that features lingere all the time...  Thought there is a more edgy (raunchy) mag.. called S magazine.. its hard to find... but definately more on the risque side of the spectrum.

for Fashion, don't forget that styles vary from, say, Europe to America; maybe stop by the bookstore & see some examples of the latest, hotest thing in Europe to spark your creativity ...

I was looking more for the fasion as opposed to the lingerie.  Should have left out lingerie.

Just a guess . . . the fact that it's a "fashion/lingerie" workshop suggests that it won't have much to do with real fashion photography anyway . . .

I think that we are doing them separately.  As in 2 workshops in 1.  Fashion and then Lingerie later.

Oh cool. Somebody besides me who agrees that Zink is an effing rag.

(And that's a very good list, Kara... I think you missed Another Magazine which is also damn cool. And Purple has its moments.)

I didn't like this issue of Another with Wynona on the cover, it was boring. Haven't heard of Purple tho, have to check it out.

Z!NK isn't fashion, Z!NK is Z!NK. It's good if you want to shoot for Z!NK

I agree the latest spring/summer issue of Another Mag is probably the worst in three years. Still beats most American magazines by 2 miles. (It's almost worth it just for the Stephan Shore editorial. This was the first story by Diekgerdes that he for them that disappointed me.)

Yea, American magazines are rather disappointing nowadays... hey, do you know where I could get the French Revue de Modes? I've only seen one issue in my life and my God... it was amazing

European newsstands. I can't get it in Croatia unfortunately. It's expensive. Stylists' standard issue.

purple is my recent favorite, despite the price over here.  the latest one includes a black and white bonus book by juergen teller.

my other favorites: 10, pop, oyster, i-d

zink is crap.

I picked up a W & British Vogue.  That was the only non-US vogue they had.
