this is probably a silly question, but i want to at some point start putting my photos in a portfolio, but i don't know where to get one, what size photos to put in, etc.

any advice would be appreciated smile

The two most often quoted photo sizes are 11x14 and 13x19.  A true beginner model might get away with and 8x10 but to advance  they need larger pics.
A good open and closing head shot with variety in between.

There was a great explanation a while ago on ports, I would recommend using the search function at the bottom.

I think modeles are generally using 9 X 12 size, photographers 11 X 14

Most photography or Art stores will have portfolio books of different sizes.

Any art supply store should have a variety of styles, don't buy the cheapest though.Spend a liitle more for a quality book that will prevent your photos from getting too dusty.
