"Favorite --" Threads, not self promotion
Ok, this may come off as a slight rant, but here goes anyways. I've been going through some of the "Favorite insert category here" threads and I'm beginning to get a bit irritated. The point of these threads is to help spread the word about favorite talent in that category. If you're not in that category, check out the talent anyways; it'll make you feel cultured and the like. If you're in that category, feel free to check out the thread and look at the talent. But please, please, don't use the thread as a place to say: "hey, I think my stuff if pretty good so come check it out" If your work is considered a favorite, chances are it will be brought up. And if not, don't take things personally. Use the thread to explore talent in your area and gain inspiration from others' work. Just please, please, please... no more "Hey my stuff's spiffy so check it out" *end rant* Anyone else have an opinion on this or agree with me?
