I would love to hear what the models have been asked to do that is out of the norm for a shoot. Things like clothing you had to model in or having a big snake on you.  Maybe shooting in a dangerous place. Stuff like that.

While I am known as a photographer here, I was also a professional commercial talent in what seems like a previous life now.  Anyway, I was working in Miami, and as many people know, the shooting season is the winter, and you can usually count on nice weather during the season.  Well, as things turned out, the day that was scheduled for an Eastern Airlines commercial I was doing just happened to be a record-breaking cold day with the low being 39 degrees.  To make things worse, I had to be filmed swimming underwater in a pool.  By the time I was to go in the water, the air temperature was up to 44 degrees.  My agent (Marrion Polan) told me it was up to me wether I could do it or not, and if I didn't want to do it, they would just have to reschedule.  I looked around at all the people involved with the two semi trucks full of equipment on hand, so I decided to just suck it up and do it.  By the time I got out of the water my skin had turned blue and none of my joints would bend until I thawed out under a long hot shower.  I was ten years old.

I was posing in a convertible car and was told to act like I had road-rage...except there was something wrong with the lighting and I had to just keep yelling and screaming and frailing around for about two minutes straight until the guy could get the damn picture! Meanwhile everyone around was looking at us both as if we'd lost our minds! Classic.

Naomi Sky lay nude on the beach with a mouth full of sand like it was meant to look like sand was pouring from her mouth..She locked her jaw open and we poured sand deep in her mouth with a funnel like it was supposed to be spilling out of her body...She had a dry sand mouth for like 20 minutes...
Course the shots are super bizarre...

seems like i am  ALWAYS trying to talk the models into shots and convince them...The crazy shots are the best ones though..when the model goes above and beyond posing, that is what makes for memorable imagery..the crazier the stuff the better...I love the models that will do anything for "The Shot"  Trust in the photogrpaher is a big factor...

I've been posed in a refridgerator and a trunk.  I'm beginning to think it's a game to see what other small spaces a 6' tall girl can squeeze into.  There is a laundromat open 24 hours across the street from where I work.  They advertise that they have the largest dryers in the county.  hmmmm....

I've posed with paper mache creatures, which is always fun.  Running around in some woods acting like a zombie.  I've been wrapped in Christmas lights and garland.

Does standing in the middle of a crowded casino shopping mall in a black latex dress and high white hooker boots count?

For extra work I have,

Had mud rubbed into my clothing and hair, TWICE, and than been hit with a fire hose on a cold cold day. Both times I get really sick afterwards.

On Carnivale for two days I had to run in circles inside a tent while blood splashed around and Clancy waived a scythe around. They were 16 hour days, I got bruised, bloodied and beaten but damn it was so much fun!

For Rent, I have been put at the top of one of the fake brownstones on Warners Lot, leaning out of a window that was about 1 inch off the catwalk I was safety lined to, with only about a foot of line, while flaming pieces of paper were thrown to the wind, hope they don't hit me! The fun part was trying to get down, without falling out of the window to my death.

I have had a lot of strange, and a lot of boring, things happen on sets...

I had to rub ice cubes on my nipples, lol. I was wondering why the only thing the photog had brought to our shoot was a bag of ice! That nipple pic used to be one of my most popular...lol..go figure! :p

SayCheez I can do that wink

I love crazy shots...

But sometimes shoots aren't fun. The only photo of me in a swimwear I'm sitting on broken glass and nails, it took 3 weeks for my skin to heal.

There's another shot where I climbed up on an old, rusted rail road bridge that's 25 feet above a roaring river and rocks and then just hung myself off just using my arms...

Pinky the washer / dryer can be done... I can fit in a regular size one wink actually a second smaller person could fit into the dryer with me (the washer was just enough room for one)

I can put one leg behind my head.  with a little more practice I might be able to put both legs behind my head.

Sara, all I have to do is find a photographer to shoot it at 3am when nobody is doing laundry.

Thought of another difficult shoot.  It was a night shoot during winter when the wind chill as close to 20 below.  I had on long underwear, a pair of jeans, sweater, a cardigan (with hood), winter coat (with hood), 2 pairs of sock, and winter boots.  My toes were numb within 1 hour.  I also brought a cape with me.  Steam was rising out of one of the man hole covers and got some really cool photos from it.

Nothing I've done on a shoot seems strange to me anymore.

Standing naked on a roof in Brooklyn on a windy December day? Normal. Wearing a Tina Turner wig and fur bikini holding a riding crop in my mouth? Same old, same old. Smearing myself with a mixture of vaseline and mascara and pretending to be a cat? Yawn. Burning a spoonful of malt liquor? Been there. Standing under the Jersey Turnpike in a corset, stockings in heals? Done that.

I had to wear these little gold panty type things except they had no back, so i had to put dental floss through them and run the floss underneath me through my legs, and secure the other end of the floss to my back with a bandaid. haha oooh behind the scenes.

I once had to pretend like I was spinal cord injured and fall while wearing leg braces....
... That gave me a ton of empathy for people who really do have such problems. I was worried about scraping myself with the old metal braces, hitting myself on furniture... not to mention that it's hard to make yourself "Fall" even in a padded blue room (with no sharp corners).
