Hey gang:

I was told when I change lens on the camera to take out the battery, so I dont mess up the CMOS. Can someone tell me if this is true or not?

You shouldn't need to remove the battery, but it's suggested that you simply turn the camera off when removing the lens.

This is because the sensor is electrically charged when the camera is turned on, which sort of turns the sensor into a low power electromagnet... therefore dust and metal paricles would be more attracted to it, causing the need for more cleanings.  There is also an extremely unlikely chance that a dust or metal  particle can cause damage to the sensor as well.
