I wish you lived close to Knoxville, TN.

I like working with four new local models each year. I often do four to seven shoots with each of them, before running out of ideas.

What would you say if your husband said 'I'd like to see you do something like this?'

That would be my choice and since I am open I would most likely do it.

I think ultimately that while the decision lies with the model, they have to look at how if will affect their relationship.  They have to work that out between themselves.

I don't believe that the model should be restricted or told what to do however and anytime I hear that, I know the relationship is going to have a rocky road ahead of it.

I've never run into this issue. Indeed, there have been a few times where the boyfriend was the one who asked the model to do a nude set with me and she liked the idea.

My wife is a model and has done everything from fashion and catalog through nudes. It doesn't bother me at all - I know who she's sleeping with :-)

very true. the other day i read a post by a photographer whose wife wouldn't let him shoot a model nude.  WTF ?

That was me.  Sounds like you have bigger issue with it than I do.  Relationships are give and take.  It wasn't important enough to walk away from the relationship over.  I'm sure there are models that feel the same way.

Every possible variation is out there.  From personal experience:

- boyfriend says no nudes, model complies
- boyfriend says no nudes, model tells boyfriend to go to hell
- boyfriend asks model to pose nude, and she does
- boyfriend tells model she can do whatever she would like and then supports her decision

Really, it doesn't matter much to me what any individual model chooses.  It's her life, she's the one who needs to be able to live with her decisions.  There are many models, there will be many different types of decisions.  If the model and her philosophy fit into one of my concepts, then we shoot.  If not, then we don't.

I understand  that it  can be fustrating when someone say they will do something, make an appointment and then cancel. But what people need to think more about, I think, is that beeing naked in a photograph, it is an extremly 'private' think. But also beautiful. So I don't think anyone can become angry becuase of a cancel in such projects really. When it's done it's done, and the photographer do whatever she/he wants with the image(allmost). So to someone, not everyone, this is a huge step. And they might think they want to, for then to change their mind.

I guess some might think that it's so fucking stupid for a boyfriend to tell her girlfriend not to post nude. I think most of those have a lot in their head, and I think most of them love their women. I do not think it's veird what they don't want everyone to see something that was really just inteded for him to see, if you understand me?.... To say that it's a "lame" excuse is quite "lame" or whaterver itself. I do not think any excuse for not posting naked is "lame". (But yes, to make an appointment about it is quite stupid too. But them there is a lot of stupid, unsertian girls)

Ok. I may be in a totally different place in this than a lot of others.
Does no one even bother to blink an eye before they throw of their clothes for everything?
I've seen a lot of "so called artistic nudety shoots", and I must say, MANY of them are, as I consider them, PORN!...I do not see how spreading your legs, while beeing naked, and having a "sex" look on your face is artistic!?..I see it as porn.
I think it's great that some guys step up and say that they do not want their girl to post nude (of course if she HAVE to, then so be it), I think it's good that at least some people still is beeing a part of making our body and sex something A LITTLE more private, beautiful and sackered .(maybe without knowing it)

I DO like nude photos, I do think that some is beautiful. If they represent it in that way. Not porn ways. With that fucking stupid look on your face. But beauty.

I think that a lot of people need to think twise here. Or ..no..that's too late. Nothings beautiful for anyone anymore. What the hell happened to love?
maybe that's what some of those guys have a tind left of, when they ask someone who they truly care for, only to be desired and to desire him?!

(and also I have to say when you wrote that about the 17 year old girl, who was soon to be 18, you sounded like a BIG pervert. That's what I would call you..sorry:P.. but hey I'm just a stupid little girl aren't I..that's what I hear everyday, because everyone knows better. But still..when you got "fuck I missed a nude shot with a 18 year old gril""heey I was supposed to get that shot".)..hmmm...tongue butI can also take it like if that girl was very open to nudety and that it is hard to get nude models.

well...I do not think I will make that much sence to a lot of people, but if only one get it, then I'm glad.

then last....
*How many of you can say that you know love? for to me, it seems like very few people really love.
*How many of you can said that you have MADE LOVE, instead fucked or had sex?
*What is porn to you? I think porn can be called art now, becuase I see a lot of photos that is called art.
*Is something TRULY beautiful to you?
*How many can say that when they had sex it's between the lovers, and not all of your friends?...sorry to say, but the whole society is having one hell of a big orgie!
*What is your boyfriend or girlfriend?.Love? or what?, becuase "just getting a new one isn't love"...
*What does "boyfriend/girlfriend" mean to you?....to me it's sounds like your "thing" that you those away for then to move on to another when you are sick of him..

I think we sould thank some of those guys! (not the total control freaks though, you sould love your woman/man as he/she is)

For Anyone who read the whole thing, Greetings

I don't see the problem for models posing nude. The female body is art itself it only changes when you pose in a provocative or a  sexual form. My husband does not care how I pose and he has no say how I pose it is my choice.

Sherrie

Why only the female?
It sickens me that women today are so fucking "high up in the air", becuase of that I now think that the male body is more interesting.

Have you noticed that the covers of a male pron magazine is allmost the same as a fashion/girl/woman magazine? It's becuase allmost all women are hung up in themself. I want to see more male ART, and then I mean art, photos of men naked.

And there are also A LOT of people that think that lesbians are ok and sexy (if they are "pretty") but think that a gay guy is discusting...WTF?...haha, and that's both men and women.

I used to assume that women found men to be every bit as sexy as women are to men.  But then I noticed that men's magazines have cleavage-baring women on the covers, and women's magazines do too.  From that I concluded that men just aren't sexy, at least not to the eye.

About that time I was walking along a city street and I saw a sign outside a photography studio, and the sign said: Photographer Of Women.  I blinked twice, smacked my head in realization and said aloud, "Do you mean that I can photograph only women!" and from that point on my future was decided.

haha...yes. and have you noticed that women are soon taking the place men had back in the old days?..

But I do think men are attractive, but only if it's not a big sign on them saying "HI I WORK OUT EVERY DAY ON THE GYM! DON*T I LOOK GOOD DON*T I??? I BET EVERYONE AT THE GYM DRUELS AT MY SWEATTING BODY"..tongue..but that's me though..

I remember reading your post...

My wife doesn't like me working with models, she doesn't like me spending time with other women in general.

HOWEVER... She knew this is what I wanted to do, she knew I would spend time away from home traveling, she knew there would be nudity... all before we even got engaged.

Not a chance in hell I would let her do a 180 and try to stop me from doing what I planned from the beginning.

I think guys that work out so much that they look like arnold schwarzenegger (sp?) are not attractive. I personally like to cuddle and I'd be afraid to with them cuz I would get smooshed!
