As a model or photographer, do you feel like being in florida is too saturated when it comes to the glamour market?

Here in MN it seems that most (not all) of the talented photographers just try to show as much skin as they can, and not much emphasis is put on fashion or art.

Is it similar in Florida? I have been contemplating a move to the east coast, just not sure where, and wondering if I would be stuck doing glamour if I came to Florida.

Bikini glam, weddings  and Porn.....that`s what`s here in Fla.  If you have a look that stands out then it`s a go, but it`s mostly an uphill battle here, the Miami fashion scene is already saturated with photographer`s and unless you can come up with something that stand`s out and people want your just another number here

I stay here while my Automobile work is 24/7 365 days a year (and I hate California * San Francisco doesn`t count as Ca.*)  but If I was living on land based model work, I`d be starving..........Florida`s great for the weather, (cept June to end of September, too dammm humid) if I were you look into NYC big_smile you`ll make MORE money

Nope Sorry, I have to agree with KoolGirlie Stuff.  If you are lookignt o move to the east coast, and you want to make some bling as a photographer, may be your best bet to move to NY and set up base camp here.  Florida is not a bad place, outside of the hurricane seasons which seem to be intense lately.  Good luck with whatever you decide.

I don't live in florida, but I feel that most of the photogs and models feel that skin is in here in OH too.  It's ok for that to be your goal in life and all, but I think with so many photographers trying to get girls naked in the name of modeling that it sends wrong messages about the industry and to the girls.  I think it needs to be a conscious decision on the models behalf without extra coaxing from the horney nerd man behind the camera.

Ok - off my pedestood... my point is, shoot what you want and what you feel the industry should consist.  There WILL be a market for that!

As long as it can also pay the bills.

There's no way you'd be stuck doing Glomour Photography in FL if you didn't want to. There are many Fashion Photographers as well as Commercial Photographers. Also there's many great locations in South Florida to shoot in. There's South Beach with the amazing architecture, the beach, the Keys, and many spots only the locals know about. Models are top notch here also. The east cost is booming right now especially Miami.

This is what someone said to me on another site....  anyone willing to confrim any of this?  So far the responses here all contradict it.
