But Klaudia,

didn't you pose nude on your avatar? I saw a picture of you butt 'nekid' on a sofa. I wouldn't called that religious, christian or someone with Christian morals. Thinking about   a comment that you made sometime back when the question came up about would anyone date a 'former' porn star. Frankly there are alot of people who are christians when it is convenient at a paticular point and time, but then they take off the uniform.

Yeah, actually I do run into this sometimes. Not so much from men because they're sometimes just incomfortable about it, not so much judgemental. But some women tend you think that a guy who poses nude is just some exhibitionist trying to score dates. (Granted, there ARE a lot of those out there...) Ultimately there are those who will appreciate what you do, and those who will not. I say don't loose any sleep over it, it's their problem, not yours.....

I would never call you a whore or a pig.
Some people make their living that way.
It's not like you are pushing other people to do.
Good for you that you used to do it and you are not ashamed. In this day and age people should lighten up and get stuffed as far as you should be concerned!!

take care chicka

Klaudia, the OP wasn't talking about models who choose a more conservative career path, but rather about those who are actively nasty about models whose work includes more skin.  I don't think anyone (in this thread) takes exception to a model pursuing a fully clothed career.  I certainly don't.  I do, however, take exception to being told that my choices reflect some inherent lack of morality, talent, ability, etc.  There's a huge difference between choosing not to do something oneself, and calling someone else who does do it a "whore" or "pig" as the OP mentioned.  I've never seen you do that, so I think you're in the clear.  wink

Right on, Shyly!  Personally, I'm surprised to see that there are still so many Neanderthals around who believe that nudity is, somehow, dirty and sinful.  Also, I think that old fashioned female cattiness has something to do with it.

It's funny you say that...really...

My husband and I are people watchers. Pretty much everywhere, online, IRL, whatever. We both enjoy watching the unconscious body language of those moving around us, and we enjoy looking at eyecandy online (I mean really, who doesn't?)
For a long time we both preferred eyecandy in the 18-24 age range, because hey.  They're hot. They're lithe. They're tanned. They're oiled. Sweet. Let's checkitout.
But...
We started paying attention particularly on this site, and have noticed that more and more, the women who are 25+ seem to take care of themselves, be more fit, more toned, and in better over all condition.

What does this have to do with nudes and snarky women?
A lot.

The women who are snarky are the women who won't put the work in to make themselves look good naked or not, and they're insecure about their own physique and attractiveness in the scheme of things.

Someone asked why nudes would be looked at as a bad thing? Politicians, teachers (yeah, they'll definitely get fired), high powered attorneys, etc., all don't need a blast from the past in the form of nude pictures, unless they're high end famous photographer, elite nudes and even then it will be a blow to the career.

I would never be snarky about another woman doing nudes.

What I do raise my eyebrows about however is the preponderance of 18-24 year old girls who are making $$$$$ off of webcam and hoochie sites who really haven't given their future a thought. The pictures are poor quality up the hoohoo and bumhole shots that have NO artistic value whatsoever, and I really have to wonder if the models have given any thought to their future husbands, or children, or jobs, or whatever.
But even then, I'm not snarky.

If you feel good about yourself and you're comfortable then don't worry about the insecure chicks who only wish they had your confidence!

Jealousy and envy of the model they are viewing. Maybe the prudish one is simply one who would love to do some nude modeling, but lacks the confidence and self comfort that comes with being nude (probably even when she is alone). That's very mental.

As a baby boomer, I couldn't agree with you more regarding this concern.  We get to look at the low standards of popular culture.  Most of these girls will probably think that it's perfectly all right for their daughters to be hoochies.  As a former school teacher, I've already seen evidence of it.  It's a sad commentary on what our society has become.

It's reallllly actuallykind of scary, because I've talked to a lot of these girls, and their mindset is "Oh, I'll just deal with that if it ever happens which I really doubt."
Artistic nudes?
Great.
Good Maxim (insert soft men's mag here) style shots?
Great.

randomteenagedgirllolitanamehere.com style shots, windows, and pictures?
Yeah, the price to be paid for those is yet to be seen. hmm

This is one of the reasons that I do post some nudity on my portfolio - to weed out models who don't want to be associated in any way with a photographer "who does nudes." To me, the nudity I do have in my portfolio is in no way gratuitous, but if a model is repelled by it, we're probably not going to have the same sense of art going into a shoot, even one that stays completely draped.

I don't have a problem with nudity. But I'm not down with all nudity neither. It depends on the content and what is trying to be diisplayed in the work.

I haen't done any nudity, but have offered to do it in my avatar. For me, if I do nudity on my own, there's a reason behind it and not just someone that is stark naked for the sakes of having a naked woman on my site.

If a model approaches me to do a nude project, it just depends on what she wants. I don't say yes just because she wants to drop her panties.

I say "live and let live".  I don't understand the point of looking down on someone who may choose to show more skin.  I know girls who shoot b/g adult material and although I don't do it, I don't look down on them for doing it.

Their just being bitchy because they are to insecure with themselves and their bodies to do nudes or erotic style photos. I don't do nudes or erotic pics because I don't have the guts to do them, but I don't look down on any person, male or female for doing them. I appreciate the beauty (and courage!) that the models that pose for them have.

I'm glad somebody asked this question because in a couple of other threads there seemed to be such a separation between those models who will do nudes and those who won't... like there are two kinds of models in the world.

Why not just say: everyone has his/her limits? I mean, I won't do anything beyond artistic/figure nudes, simply because I don't enjoy doing certain things on camera or seeing myself on photos in certain ways. But I understand that some models will easily go beyond that limit into fetish/bondage, whathaveyou, because they are comfortable doing it, and like seeing the results. Others won't even do suggested nudity for various reasons. I just don't see why there has to be such negativity between the "two camps."

I don't do nudes, I'm not insecure though I love my body I just don't think I need to show it to the world, In my mind there is a difference between the girls who do nudes for the artistic quality which I don't mind the body is a beautiful thing, and then there are just girls who shove their ass in the camara, although I don't look down upon them I just don't find those pics very appealing.

One of the hardest things I've ever done was the implied nude in my port... it was me, my nearly non-existant skirt, and a guitar.

I was mortified of how it would turn out.  I was even more afraid of how others would look at it and percieve it.  It is now one of my favorite images of myself.

It is sad that people still jump to conclusions and so easily label others... and even more so when insults are being thrown around.  I think the age old "don't knock it til you try it" applies here.  While I can't go exposing all my girlie bits due to my career choice, I think tasteful nudes (implied, in my case) are great!  Art, glamour, fetish, and all things around & in between... bring on the naked people! smile

I must admit though that I once critiqued a model in a photog's port... but it was only to comment that the crotch shot would have been much better if she'd simply shaved her stuff prior to the shoot... to me, pubic hair poking out the sides of booty shorts is simply not appealing!
