I'm revamping my photo card and was using the comments I had received here at Model Mayhem as a limited barometer of what people responded to. But as I was assessing comments, I realized they're not all created equal. This is my order for weighing comments:

1. Most Influential - another photographer whose work I really like leaves me a nonresponsive comment on a picture (e.g., not a comment in response to one I left for him/her).

2. Moderately Influential - a model whose port and look I like leaves me a nonresponsive comment.

3. Least Influential - a horny dude leaves a comment on a pic of a sexy model I shot. lol.

Agree.

Someone I respect commenting about the photograph is most important.

Someone who doesn't have a clue talking about titties is worthless - I delete them.

I'm with you 100% - My motto for comments is, "be useful, or be silent."

A few hundred years before christ an old wise man in China said.  He who believes everything he reads should stop reading.  I think this old guy said it first and more elequently.  It might mean you need to read more so your revelations are not so well OLD NEWS.

I prefer Dorothy Parker's approach.
"If you can't say anything nice, come over and sit by me."
