BJ Thomas
"Hey! A-won't you play another somebody done somebody wrong song." I thought I'd start this rant with that quote from a BJ Thomas song. I just can't seem to understand why it seems at least once a week, if not every few days, we are seeing posts about this person did this or that person did that. IMO it's just somebody looking for drama. I'm sure that bad things happen everyday to people, but not many of them will air their dirty laundry. If these individuals are seeking advice, they can send a message to somebody they do trust in private. Personally I'm getting tired of the pity parties going on here. Scams are different and should be made public. It's a good way to spread advice to more than a single person so that others can gain from others' experiences. Much of what I've read that you describe as pity parties has been very valuable for myself and I'm sure others. IMO, if it upsets you that much, don't read it or respond to it. Jun 28 05 03:58 pm Link Posted by StaciF: ...not if you're an unwilling participant in it, let me assure you. Jun 28 05 04:27 pm Link Let's take for example one that happened recently, "Photographers who deceive," thread. All of the response excpet for a few were coddling the girl. She said that the photographer biewed his work as porn and she was under the assumption that it was erotica. Immeaditaely, other photographers jumped on the wagon saying his work sucks, he's an asshole, he's unethical, he's this that and the other. The people who responded harshly against the unnamed photographer had non clue who this person was or what had transpired between model and photographer. She was getting what she wanted just was attention. If you don't think that thread was a pity party, then what was it? There are a half dozen more in these forums just like it. You also failed to read my last sentense of my first post...Scams are different. Some model or photographer coming out to drag another model or photographers name through the mud isn't a person pointing out a scam. Jun 28 05 04:32 pm Link and the drama is exacerbated... Jun 28 05 04:53 pm Link Posted by Jim Warren: I'm curious what you "learned" from the thread that she mentioned. You said that these dramas were learning experiences. What were we to take away from this particular instance? Jun 28 05 05:52 pm Link Posted by Melvin Moten Jr: Posted by Jim Warren: I'm curious what you "learned" from the thread that she mentioned. You said that these dramas were learning experiences. What were we to take away from this particular instance? I didn't mention that thread in particular, the model did after I responded. You can certainly learn something about human nature through the responses, though, can't you? Jun 28 05 06:02 pm Link But people love drama. And we're the only place that allows it. Jun 28 05 10:26 pm Link I don't get enough drama from LiveJournal.com so I joined up here. Jun 29 05 01:29 am Link So I guess this place is like Jerry Springer? Where's Steve? Jun 29 05 03:33 am Link I thought profanity wasn't allowed in thread headlines. This one is talking about BJs for a guy named Thomas!? Jun 29 05 03:50 am Link Posted by Eric Muss-Barnes: Shows where your mind is. Noooo, you haven't heard of the 70s singer BJ Thomas? I guess I shouldn't mention BJ and The Bear or BJ Hunnicut of M*A*S*H. Any other BJs I forgot? Jun 29 05 03:57 am Link Posted by Eric Muss-Barnes: Makes you wonder about those "rain drops" fallin' on yer head doesn't it? Jun 29 05 03:57 am Link Posted by Sand Angel: Your comment, combined with the Avatar of a smiley kid, I find totally humorous. Thanks! Jun 29 05 03:59 am Link Posted by Pinky: ...
