Mine would be a gorgeous 5'8", 34-24-34, show up on time, smile easily, have some good poses, and would start the shoot by putting her hand on my shoulder and saying "William, I have no limitations."  :-)

Lately, I have been searching out models willing to do nudes. Not that I always have to shoot nudes, but there's nothing worse than being in the middle of a shoot and getting a great idea but feeling weird about asking the model if she's willing... With a model that does nudes in the first place, it's never an issue.

And then the alarm clock goes off...and ruins everything!  smile

Close:  The model I'm actually shooting walks in the door.  REAL people are so annoying.

A shape shifter with a great sense of humor and a little bit twisted.

LOL.  Um, you made me think.  I'd like to add a quality to my ideal model:  She can put her ankles behind her head.

That's exactly my train of thought, John...I like the freedom of a model that is comfortable with herself in any state.

God, that sort of reminds me of my uncle's old poker night ditty....

I've finally found the perfect girl,
    I couldn't ask for more;
She's deaf and dumb and oversexed,
    and owns a liquor store.

OK, back to the real world.  I'd prefer models who are OK with nudes, too, for the reason you gave.  But actually for most of my shoots, lingerie and topless is OK.

I don't have an "ideal" model; I'd just like to have *a* model!

My ideal model?

On time, ready to create, and willing to become a character in front of the camera.  That's all.  To me, male or female doesn't matter as I shoot both.

My ideal model is MM #59193 (Heather T).  She is absolutly beautiful, outstanding body, open minded, great modeling skills, takes directions perfectly, has an uncanny ability to anticipate the poses that I'm looking for, is ALWAYS prompt and prepared, and has the best demeaner and attitude I've ever work with.

For me, she has set the standard.

models who are also artists and appreciate my type of work. They got to love the outdoors and getting messy with clay, body paint and do not mind getting dirty (in a clean way).. lol

The ideal model?  It's the one that I'm working with that day.

I have been very lucky to work with several women that are really smart, savy - have a great perspective on life - a great head on their shoulders - and love to have fun.

Oh and they model as well.

I like the upper hip bone, just beneath the lowest rib.  Of course, this has nothing to do with photography.  :-)

What do you mean by "alternative," TooCool?

Adding to my prior posts:  My ideal model is able to pull off several different looks, so that she practically looks like a new model at each shoot.

My ideal model (although I'm not a photographer...)

https://supermodels.nl/Tools/img.aspx?img=/ModelPics/marinadias/37.jpg
Marina Dias

https://nana-nana.net/images/mika/cddata/10.jpg
Mika Nakashima

Adriana Lima

Would be something like these three. Versatile, unique, sexy in an unconventional way.

A cross between Joan Leslie https://www.classicmovies.org/graphics/joanleslie.jpghttps://ia.imdb.com/media/imdb/01/I/50/07/22m.jpg, young Milla Jovovich https://images.ihatemycubicle.com/12_Milla_Jovovich.jpg and Famke Janssen https://www.memory-alpha.org/en/images/4/46/Kamala_Krios.JPG

Or maybe just the three of them. They're fairly ideal models as-is. I think it's the eyes, they all have intelligent eyes.

My ideal model has nothing to do with the physical actually. It has everything to do with being fun loving, open minded , somewhat silly with the heart of a child with the mind of an adult, I am a sucker for a model who can be playful with her posing and expressions.
