Model/Photogs best self-shots
There seems to be a lot of photographers who are also models here on MM. I would like to see your best self-shot and hear about how you did it? Did you use a mirror, TV plugged into your digital camera, or just winged it? My best one so far I think is: https://modelmayhem.com/pic.php?pic_id=43bade3d7f105 I just did a bunch of them until I got one that worked. Feb 26 06 01:32 pm Link I'm the best looking photographer and most gifted as well. Feb 26 06 01:33 pm Link XtremeArtists wrote: OH YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Feb 26 06 01:34 pm Link I have ginormous nipples. The girls dig em. I'm too lazy with all the technical logistical stuff. When I want my picture taken, I just hand off the camera. Feb 26 06 01:41 pm Link I'm sorry..... Confidence is great, but arrogance, not! Going back to the gist of this thread,my favorite self-port is: https://www.modelmayhem.com/pic.php?pic … f5580552d4 Took it standing infront of the bathroom mirror. Looked up and "click". Feb 26 06 01:41 pm Link camera timers are useful arent they? and my avater is also myself. i hold the camera in front of me ^^ Feb 26 06 01:46 pm Link wow almost all my pictures I took myself Feb 26 06 01:47 pm Link La Perle Le Paon wrote: Hmm... I hope I don't come across as arrogant. Sometimes I just get an idea of a shot I want to do and if it is possible, I first test the idea on myself. I am just curious as to if others sometimes do the same. Feb 26 06 01:48 pm Link Feb 26 06 01:49 pm Link krsnite wrote: this is really well done. i love it. Feb 26 06 01:50 pm Link krsnite wrote: Feb 26 06 01:51 pm Link forgot about this one. timer on camera again, took a bunch, took hands from the shoot and put them on this shot in photoshop. i have more of this sort of photo manipulation of my own photos at http://krsnite.deviantart.com/gallery Feb 26 06 01:56 pm Link krsnite wrote: Very cool. Feb 26 06 02:01 pm Link Feb 26 06 02:15 pm Link TV plugged into the digital. It's the only way I can attempt it anymore, which is depressing because it's so limiting, locationwise. I really want to get out of my apartment and shoot in other locations (I've shot it to death by this point) but I can only shoot myself through the TV. I've tried it other ways and no go. It takes four times as long and only gives me results half as good. Feb 26 06 02:19 pm Link http://www.whitebearsvisions.com/photo/ … plit3.html One of few online. I have some nicer ones but this one just rocks. Feb 26 06 03:11 pm Link Feb 26 06 03:13 pm Link Feb 26 06 03:14 pm Link I think my buddy Jessica has done the best self-portraits I've ever seen, nude or not. https://www.modelmayhem.com/member.php?id=33539 http://fidget.deviantart.com Feb 26 06 03:14 pm Link Looknsee Photography wrote: that is quite amazing... Feb 26 06 03:46 pm Link MarkMarek wrote: I could not find a previous thread with this subject. I only found threads where models wanted to see what the photogs looked like. I started this thread because I wanted to know what was possible to create while not being able to look through the camera. I think a person has to have good imagination in order to create this way. There is some amazing work here so far. Maybe it will inspire others to try new things. I certainly have some new ideas. Looknsee Photography wrote: Agreed. Jessica has done amazing work. Feb 26 06 04:13 pm Link this thread motivated me to finish taking out the background (which was my room) for this one: Feb 26 06 04:14 pm Link I like my self portrait, which is in my avatar... Another one like that is on my website in my biography section... it's all for "effect" and recognition. Especially since there is another Udo, German photographer in NYC, where he and I are constantly being mixed up... but, since we both have a different look... it helps a lot. Edit: Oh... sorry... just realized that this is only for models who are also photographers... Well... I am sort of a nationally and internationally tattoo model ... ... guess that this counts then LOL Feb 26 06 04:16 pm Link either this: or i need longer arms (and better sunblock) Feb 26 06 04:19 pm Link Looknsee Photography wrote: also, i have noticed her and commended her. she's got an amazing eye and a knack for making subjects exciting again. Feb 26 06 04:21 pm Link jon mmmayhem wrote: WHAT??? Feb 26 06 04:22 pm Link it was a superhero party. i happened to already have had the mask from about 5 years ago and then i decided that all i needed would be some gloves and some knives, all of which i picked up at a thrift store for a few dollars. a little duct tape, and there you go. everything but the Adamantium bones. and hey, i still was able to meet and make out with a girl that night! and, as you may have already noticed, my friend Audrey is wearing the same getup (and looking 10x cuter) in the new picture i just uploaded. Feb 26 06 04:27 pm Link This is an experiment. I was trying to do a painting with light photo of myself. Which, if you know anything at all about the technique, is extremely challenging. Not my best light painting photo ever, but definitely one of the most technically difficult. How do you light yourself by hand without moving for a 30 second exposure? Obligatory Self Portrait, painting with light photo. Feb 26 06 04:29 pm Link I used the timer on my camera. Also, I used a bed sheet as the background.... And of course, I photoshopped the wrinkles (on the sheet, not me). May Feb 26 06 04:33 pm Link Scott Aitken wrote: Ok. How did you do it without moving? Robotics? Pendulum? Feb 26 06 04:34 pm Link jon mmmayhem wrote: She's ain't bad as a model, either -- in fact, she's my favorite. I can't post any of her images without her permission & she's taking a year abroad in Germany, so you'll have to be satisfied with one on my favorites that I've done with her... Feb 26 06 05:25 pm Link I'm an aspiring photographer, does that count? I love photography. I need better equipment, though... I just held the camera in front of me and propped my hand on the glass door to steady my hand. Feb 26 06 05:34 pm Link Looknsee Photography wrote: yeah, the one of her standing alone in the middle of what appears to be a dorm room, looking out the window... it just kills me how thick that is. Feb 26 06 05:39 pm Link Jay, was not referring to you, but to the next 2 posts! Sorry for the misunderstanding! My regards, Suheilah Feb 27 06 12:04 am Link i love my camera phone picture...... Feb 27 06 01:55 am Link totally forgot this one... Feb 27 06 02:42 am Link Feb 27 06 03:02 am Link How is this? https://img1.modelmayhem.com/060227/01/ … 2d0b_m.jpg Feb 27 06 03:18 am Link Phoenix E wrote: Yes they're great aren't they..
