where is a good place to get good quality pictures for your portfolio. it doesnt matter if its online or located in illinois (where i am located) but yeah and a place that wont give me a hard time for printing images that look "professional"

When I'm not printing the pictures myself, I use Jet Photo. They are located in Schaumburg.

Another professional lab that was recommended to me was "Lightbox" http://www.lightboxinc.com . They were recommended to me for their b/w work, as well as their digital work. I haven't tried them yet, but plan to do so, soon. (I have a 20x30 print from a slide that needs to be printed).

You should get a print release from the photographer.  It will allow you to get prints anywhere without hassles.  I do not have a copy in electronic form available to me at the moment.  If I think about it latter I will send you one.

Yeah, you would definitely need a release.

(I thought you were just looking for professional labs, sorry).
