Where to get flower petals for shoots
Any recommendation for where to obtain flowers and petals for shoots in tubs or scattered on the floor? I would assume a framer's market? Florist? Thanks. Feb 17 06 04:11 pm Link Do you have a fabric store near you? Readily available there. If you want real ones then arrange that with a florist near you for same day as the shoot so they are still bright red and crisp. Feb 17 06 04:14 pm Link Maybe if you catch a florist shop near the end of the day they will have some flowers they are getting ready to throw away because they are close to being bad...I would think you could get those for free or at least a discounted price Feb 17 06 04:15 pm Link sex/adult stores have the plastic rose petals and such Feb 17 06 04:15 pm Link I had good luck get 100 roses for my bridal portraits at a farmer's market. I know they had them around Valentine's day, but you should be able to find them there most of the year. They come in a red box with roses all over it. They run about 10 bucks or so a box. I think there is 100 petals in it. Feb 17 06 04:58 pm Link Thanks for all of the very helpful ideas! I hadn't thought of fabric or plastic! Not sure if my mall has a Spencers but we have Michaels which is a craft store. thanks again! Feb 17 06 05:07 pm Link I know it's strange but...funeral parlors. They get many flower arrangements a day and they are often just thrown out. Ask if you can have unclaimed arrangements. Feb 17 06 05:14 pm Link Peter Dattolo wrote: Best option is you have money. Feb 17 06 05:24 pm Link IKEA has realistic rose petals in assorted colors. Feb 17 06 07:54 pm Link I would contact a local country club. They usually use flowers for the tables and during the middle of the week the will exchange the old for the new. I did this quite often Feb 17 06 07:57 pm Link Try a crafts store - that is where I got mine for my kindergarten class artwork!
