Yes I would, and yes I have.

In my eyes, a body is a body. I was raised to be very open. I have done nudes for several different people, of all races and body types. I simply view the human form as a strictly artistic thing.

I have shot both nudes and implied nudes of my younger sister. In fact, she has been in several of my portfolio images.

I'm just one of those, "What difference does it make?" people. smile

seems to be alittle different then a female photographer shooting her female relatives and being ok with it, but not many said they have shot thier male relatives

and male photographers some say they have shot a few relatives but none were males lol

I find that funny tee hee

Well me I would be comfortable shooting female relatives nude but I couldn't shoot my mom nude or male relatives nude, would be too funny lol

Hell, sally mann made her professional name off shooting her kids nude, even after they were infants.  And after 20+ years it's still a hot and weird issue with people.

No, i couldn't.  Unfortunitlly i am the youngest and best looking person in my family (which is really bad bad bad).  All my relatives are old, fat and ugly.  So no i would not shoot my family nude... i dont even want to shoot them at all!  And don't! ==B)

If it walks, crawls, flys, or slithers and I can get it to hold still long enough - I'll shoot it.

I can not believe all the answers from so-called professional photographers members here.  I would not seek out a family member as my only model, but since all my family knows I shoot photos and do nudes it would not be any different from any other model.  I mean if you think there is some sexual over tone, then you most likely feel the same with anyone else you shoot.  Everyone has pictures of babies nude in the tub or swimming pool, which is not what the question was implying.

I have two neices who are absolutely beautiful, if I were to ask them to pose for me they would and I could and would do tasteful nudes of them if they were willing.

Because once I turn on the camera it's all about getting the picture not getting aroused.

Like your sister, brother, niece you get the general idea.

So would it creep you out or could you handle it ok.

And have you ever shot a family member in the nude?  bs

First, I always wear clothes during a shoot.  I find it just works better, for a number of reasons.

Second, I would rather shoot the family member nude, than have them find someone like 90% of the posts on this board are trolling for -- like the sex with models threads, and predatory photographer threads, etc.

So, if you have the skill, have the equipment, why wouldn't you do something "good" for your family member?  Why would you send them out to deal with all the potential problems and issues that are so apparant out there?

Why not make their first time a good experience.  Maybe you'll get over some of your own hangups.  Obviously, they did, since they came to you.

Just dose of reality.

You'd shoot someone elses pictures, but not the pictures of someone you love and care about?

Sounds a iittle hypocritical to say that you only shoot naked people for the artistic merit, and then to be wierded out by shooting a family member.

Skin is skin people.  I don't do naked pictures at all, but if I did for artistic reasons, I wouldn't have a problem with shooting a family member.  If I was shooting it for pr0n reasons, that might be wierd, but none of you guys do that, right?

Look around, do you think 99% of these people became photographers because they love shooting?  Its to get people naked!  There are like 5 poeple in here that shoot men nude and I would guess that most of those photographers are women.  If your book is full of naked people, you might want to rethink why your so into photography.  Try shooting some apples or oranges for a change, its still photography and its stil art. Your freaks!

If you're not joking, you're full of shit. I became a photographer because my illustration skills suck. Images of still lifes or my landscapes don't do much for me on a modeling site, by the way.

No fair repeating a joke.  Someone already said they always wore clothes when they shoot.

On the other hand, I could never shoot a family member nude while holding a gun.  That would just be too sick.

Oh crap - and old Army thing just came to mind.  If you called your rifle a gun in basic training you would be made stand in front of the troops holding your ***** and rifle and had to say "this is my weapon and this is my gun, this is for killing and this is for fun"   Now some of these posts are taking on a whole new meaning...  sad

Well I just shot my niece nude.  It was strange.  I saw her when she was just 20 minutes old.  Now she is 25.  It was different for sure.

And I did feel strange doing it. bs

Wow, Bobby Sargent admits feeling strange on a photo shoot.  Actually, I could/would shoot a family member if I was asked, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't feel wierd.  You have broken new ground once again.

Hmmm, I see your point.  I love the art but I generally shoot for money.  I really enjoy having a roof over my head and food on the table.

If it makes anybody feel better, I have shot a number of male nudes over the years for clients.  I also do a lot of packaging for children's toy companies as well.

I agree with you as well but this thread was originally about shooting a family member nude... not about art over money, then someone had to make the "doing it for tits" post so I had to throw in my two cents. I agree with you the real art is the balance between making imagery you want and the money you can get from it.

Well, I've asked my cousin before. But she is a very distant cousin. From my Great Great Grandfather's Brother's side. I see her about once a year. And once a year I ask her. And once a year she tells me to go f* myself.

Check her out. You might recognize her from either the old Direct TV ads, or from one of ESPN's morning work out shows...
