Robert Perez wrote: You read her email to know if she meant they are asking her to do porn or art nudes? If not, then you don`t know if they contacted her for porn shots, lol Feb 05 06 02:34 pm Link 41! Feb 05 06 02:34 pm Link You've gotten some great advice here; I agree that the "X" in your name may be calling attention to people wanting to shoot nudes (or perhaps porn). If you're being haraased by anyone I'd certainly report it to the mods, but if it's just an inquiry then perhaps not. But I'd also indicate in your portfolio what your modeling interests are and that you're not interested in nude modeling. That *may* help. Because I do photograph nudes on occasion I ask models I may be interested in if they are comfortable with it. If not, that's fine - I shoot them clothed. But I don't expect everyone to be interested or comfortable with nude modeling, and I certainly do not try to make anyone do something they don't want to do. So, if someone can't take "no" for an anser it's time to move on to someone who will. For what it's worth, if I were anywhere near England I'd be quite happy to photograph you clothed. -P- Feb 05 06 02:43 pm Link I hate to say it sweetie, but at 16 you are a child (ok, teenager)... My own dear daughter is that age.. and though you may be gaining in maturity you are still.... a child (teenager). It is horrid that anyone would want to take advantage of you, but this is a sick world. Just ignore those requests. Feb 05 06 02:50 pm Link Maggie Shirk wrote: i agree with this 100% the low may be different in the uk but hear in the us it is 18 (ok in some states it could be lower BUT i would not push my luck and i feel it is unethical to photo some one under 18 nude) Feb 05 06 02:56 pm Link if im a child its wrong that im allowed to move out, get married, have kids, join the army and get sent down Feb 05 06 03:04 pm Link people are confusing age of consent (sex) and age of shooting. There are some states that minors can get married as young as 14 with parental consent. Thats not her issue, whether in the US or UK. Age appropriate to shoot pics a totally different legal matter. Point is that you can legally have sex well before you can shoot pictures of you doing it. I don't know about the UK laws, but I do know I have seen topless glamour images in many places of UK girls under 18, so I assume its legal there, but I'm never shooting them. Bottom line to me is what many others have pointed out, if you put yourself up on a public forum like MM, you will get these requests. Ignore them if you want. Nobody can stop people from writing you. Put it clearly on your MM profile that you don't do them, and ignore the ones that still write. Feb 05 06 03:08 pm Link Regardless of age or anything else, if a model does not want to shoot nudes, she should not shoot nudes... A photographer should respect that. However, if the age of consent in your country is 16, and you are 16, there are going to be people wanting to shoot you nude. Say no, or don't reply, and move on. There are many photographers who don't shoot nudes either. Feb 05 06 03:11 pm Link glenn it used to be 16 in the UK to do topless and i think nude but the law changed a couple years back to 18 Feb 05 06 03:14 pm Link leila wrote: Not to mention pose in stretch-lace panties. And you wonder why you're getting offers like that? Feb 05 06 03:15 pm Link StMarc wrote: Feb 05 06 03:15 pm Link leila wrote: Well, in any case I'd reccomend you update your profile with your modeing interests and state "No Nudes!" or something like that (you may want to be more polite about it, I don't know). But I see your name has been changed, so that's a good start. Feb 05 06 03:17 pm Link but to be honest i dont think that picture is sexual in the slightest..pose, facial expression..nothing...ok its skimpy but no mroe than a bikini Feb 05 06 03:17 pm Link leila wrote: I am assuming you are replying to my comment on your pic with the panties. Feb 05 06 03:21 pm Link StMarc wrote: I don't agree with this; I don't think her port has that feel at all. It's all very casual and not at all provocative. But I do agree that just because a model may be dressed alluringly it doesn't make it right to expect them to do more, so to speak. No means no, and that should be enough. Feb 05 06 03:21 pm Link I'd shoot you anyway you asked, but alas you are a bit out of the range of my lens... I might need a telephoto for that. You are a lovely girl, keep on and you will will get those worth shooting with. Paul Feb 05 06 03:27 pm Link if they think because i pose in a bra i will take it off then there stupid? if i pose in a bra and knickers that means i'll pose in a bra and knickers end of...theres a big difference between nakey and innocently showing a bit of flesh ones legal ones not Feb 05 06 03:32 pm Link Do whats best for you, you will loose out on working with people who've reached a point where the've decided what kind of work they want to create. But at the end of the day unless your really free intellectualy, or they're really good an integrity isn't even a question. Itle prolly come back to haunt you. As for the nudity at 16, I would get over it, I dont even know anyone in the fashion industry whos over 18 and isn't a veteran. But thats fashion and thats mostly europe. Strange strange weird things go on in europia, they like to draw grey all over where was once black and white. Im only interested in shooting erotic work these days, not cuzz im board, simply because its where my gift is. Fashion work bores my brains out, its hard explaining that to most ppl, thats why I started posing to shut up all the Haters. Feb 05 06 03:33 pm Link glenn usdin wrote: Finally someone points this out for the first time in a long time. I pointed it out months ago in a thread and it seemed no one got it,lol. And in Utah, as of a couple years ago or so, theyactually passed a law that there is no minimum age limit on nudity when it comes to art.Not sure if it has been overturned or not. This was covered once on CNN when it was passed. Feb 05 06 03:35 pm Link leila wrote: You are right, of course, for the UK where you live It legal to have sex at 16 with anybody and any age you like and a lot of other things... you can leave school at 16; some parents are even known to let their 16 y.o. go off on holiday alone as well. Others when their offspring reach 16 just kick them out to live on the streets. Until just last year it was common to see topless pix of 16 and 17 y.o.'s in the newspaper on Page 3. The law allows that too. Problem with photography, however, is not the nudity but that you can't sign contracts at 16 or 17 so you can't sign a release. Feb 05 06 03:46 pm Link leila wrote: Not exactly - contact me off list and I will tell you exactly what did change and what didn't. 18 is not an absolute age line in UK law for doing nudes. Feb 05 06 03:57 pm Link well its probably just harder for them to see 16 year olds like that...living in the UK 16 year olds being treated like adults is all around me see im going abroad on holiday this summer and im 16 Feb 05 06 03:57 pm Link Carlos Arturo Velarde wrote: And get rid of the picture with you in the mini.....hum, skirt ?? That black thingy....and the pic where your g-string is showing. You invite people to want to shoot you that way if thats what your advertising. And remember that Brooke Shields did semi-nudes at 13 in Blue Lagoon, so all you "Police Squad" fanatics, ease up ! Because its nude DOES NOT MEAN ITS PORN !!! Sheeeesh ! Feb 05 06 04:09 pm Link ive got rid of the x's lol but my g-string is sticking out in most pics..that was an accident Feb 05 06 04:11 pm Link leila wrote: No one would have known it was a g string until you mentioned it, really. But, having the panty line out like that just seems to be in style these days. I wouldn`t worry about a simple thing like that attracting pervs. Feb 05 06 06:02 pm Link I find it sad that you are expected to be and treated like an adult at such a young age. Very interesting the cultural differences. Feb 05 06 06:06 pm Link Maggie Shirk wrote: So in modeling treating them like an adult is bad, but if they kill someone, vandalize someones home, etc, its perfectly fine to try them as an adult? Feb 05 06 06:14 pm Link nathan combs wrote: In the UK, I think it is legal to shoot a 16 y.o. topless. Feb 05 06 06:17 pm Link It's because you have boobies and men like seeing them. If it bothers you then ignore the nude requests. Feb 05 06 06:20 pm Link Bob4friends wrote: as well as full nudes for a PB photographer, the prints were also sold in magazines. I know many others feel this way, but it's easily forgotten around here sometimes :-P There certainly is skill and art involved in shooting the human form with all its nooks and crevaces... but the challenge of evoking intrigue beyond simple "boobies" is also a worthy one. Feb 05 06 06:47 pm Link Pierre Jessop wrote: neither would i i would have a big problem photoing a 16 year old in a 2 peace bathing soot i know i know but i can not get my head around 16 year old kid naked or in sexy undies it just turns my stomake Feb 05 06 06:47 pm Link Is there any reason you haven't updated your bio to say something like "No nude or porn offers will be considered."? Put in bold letters and let people know this type of photography isn't something you do or are interested in. -P- Feb 05 06 10:14 pm Link I'd love to shoot you, even in a parka. Let me know next time you are in Beaumont, Texas! Feb 05 06 11:43 pm Link It is really frustrating when those are the only offers you seem to be getting. Just delete and/or report them and move on. Feb 06 06 12:38 am Link Well. Anyone that wishes to do this needs to be reported for harassment. You are "under-age". This just isn't right. Perhaps you should put I am "SIXTEEN YEARS OLD" in all caps with aterisks araond it, with 3 Blank lines above it and below it, so it sticks out on your profile. Feb 06 06 12:46 am Link Maybe it's a typo. Maybe they meant to say, "I want to shoot you, n00b!" Meaning they want to play Quake or something. Feb 06 06 12:51 am Link I have had lots of photographers contact me and not one has ever suggested that I pose nude or even with lingerie on. I am sure it is because my bio is short and to the point about nudity. Feb 06 06 01:15 am Link |
