The 666 was misinterpreted and it is not that number.

Not telling what it is though.

Hehe yer talking about that news story where they originally mistranslated the mark of the beasts, and it turned out it was '616' , I heard about the story because I'm in the area 616, that and there was some kind of santanic leader saying they were gona switch to using whatever scared the christians or something like that, I'd have to look it up, but I dont remeber where the news story was, just something my girlfriend forwarded to me.

No I really do study religions.

Moses used to be portrayed with horns but the correct reading was rays of light not horns.

The book the Golden legend is a good start for saint stories.

Yes...and that little mistranslation of the hebrew led to a whole bunch of interesting literalist interpretations by certain people ignorant of human anatomy.

I know what it is smile

**EDIT**  It's from Proverbs 6:16, where it lists six things the Lord hates, seven that He despises (seven deadly sins)

I'm done smile

A golden legend fan,  wow,  not sure what version I have but we have to have dinner some time.

The Golden Legend was considered as true as the Bible until the 50's by the Catholic church.

Got to love stories of guys who had their heads cut off and still walk around kicking ass after days without a head.

Where do you think that scene from Monty Python Holy Grail comes from?

"okay I have no arms,  no legs, but I will bite you to death."

Only if you stop there forever and ever.

I doubt you have the commitment.(But then that is not the true number anyway so who cares anyway except the who come to draw him away from his holy resolution, by recounting to him one by one the tortures which were visited upon the Christians.)

One version of Lucifer is that he was throw from Heaven because he loved God too much.  God first said love me and no other.  Then came back later and said love man.  Well Lucifer and his followers rebelled and said No,  we will only love you God.

God did not like that and voila,  he kicks their asses out of heaven.
