Faux tear sheet offer for a fake magezaine?
http://www.bhipstyle.com/booking.html http://www.prima-facia.com/index.html I can't find any info on this so called magazeine, and how does this photographer garentee a page in it? I can't figure out if he owns it or what? and since when does a model pay to get a tear sheet? Jan 23 06 01:19 pm Link This is another Anthony Moya project. Apparently not worth the paper it's not printed on. There was a long thread on this on another site recently, in which people to whom Moya owes money disected his project and pretty much trashed it. I think your name for this thread shows you've got a grip on the situation. But if he is charging you for a tear sheet, that is why he can gaurantee you one. He is selling one to you. As far as I can tell this is just an online zine run by a photographer. I saw absolutely nothing about it on Google either. Jan 23 06 01:25 pm Link Michael McGowan wrote: Dear God that mans name makes me shudder about as much as the initials JRP. Agencies, etc, don't need books to find talent; it walks thru their doors. Save your money honey. Jan 23 06 01:29 pm Link it didn't make much sence. I was also offerd a tfp though when I looked at the website it spelled out I would shoot three outfits and get a print of only one and could buy the others. at first glance the tfp offer looked good even with 95.00 to mua. But not for what you get, and I kept looking and it kept getting worse. then I looked at the magazeine and tried to find out how I could submit my self but it doesn't even exist.... silly scammers. Jan 23 06 01:34 pm Link If this is a Anthony Moya operation I would not proceed. I haven't looked to see if it is but Michael said so, so I'm assuming it is Heck I'm surprised somebody hasn't shot Mr. Moya yet. I understand there is quite a line. You might want to goggle his name, modEX and read up. Glen Usdin is a member here and he could give you some info on his business practices. https://www.musecube.com/forums/general.htm?read=8786 http://www.musecube.com/forums/photogra … ?read=5747 And there are lots more. Good luck. Jan 23 06 03:08 pm Link If you have to pay for something. It is probably a scam darling. Get the book Glam Scam, by Erik Joseph. It's a quick read. And I think every newer model should read it before shooting. Paying for a tear sheet!!!!!!! Than for a magazine you can't find!!!!!! Sounds really, really fishy. If you are ever unsure about something. JUST SAY NO!It sometimes saves you more by saying no. There will always be another chance. The only thing you should really pay for it content for a personal pay site. The only reason you are paying in that case? You are buying the rights from the photographer. Like the "how to sell a book" book one guy wrote. Basically it was a couple hundred pages, shrink wrapped. When you get it home it pretty much had 2 pages, one being the normal copyright page, the next being something along the lines of "write one and put a price on it and self publish". He got 20 bucks a pop for his book.
