I am always afraid to look at it cause if I am too tired to answer I look like a jerk. Anyone else have that problem?

Absolutly!
Sometimes I check it late at nite and respond in the morning.
However the awful thing about that is I will get tons of emails in between and forget to resond to the original message i opened the night before.
Usually nothing serious- mostly comments.

Ugh! Id love to have an assistant do it for me.

Always. I tend to open messages at work and can't respond immediately. Then after a few hours more messages pile in then the ones not yet responded to are moved to the bottom of the list. I wish we had folders for this very reason...

I try to open and answer every time I log into MM- so they do not pile up- but then I also do customer support for allmodelzone so I am on top of requests smile

I know most people should be afraid to open their snail mail...

Christmas bills have come a calling.

If I am too tired to give an in depth answer I at least tell them I got it and will reply with a detailed answer after I get some rest.

Are you referring to snail mail or email? (Specifically email on MM with the "read" indicator?).

Snail mail - no
Email - no
MM email - yes and no. Knowing whom it's from should give an indication to the content and the urgency in which it's addressed.

Usually its "Oh I got mail" unless its from a moderator which I usually say (unless its Dawn Elizabeth) "What the F*ck now"  tongue hehe

Nah, actually I love to get mail.

And the best way to not pay Christmas bills is to not get/give presents...lol. It works for my family. big_smile

No.
I try to respond as soon as I get it.  And then I document it all on a notepad next to the computer, with names and dates of gigs.  You have to be organized or shit will fall through the cracks.
If I don't have time for a detailed response, I will jot a quick email, send it and promise to get back as soon as I can.  This is also noted on aforementioned pad.
No reason to add more stress by avoiding the in box.

Yes. Some times I don't have time to reply but I know they will be able to see that I have read the message then they will be like "WTF? She read it and didn't reply!"

If I send you a message and you dont reply right away, you know what I say? WTF!! You're such a mean evil person!! just kidding!!

Really, I dont mind because I too will not reply if I'm feeling tired at the time or don't have time to write back. I think if we understand the majority of us are like this. then everyone will come to understand.

My personal organizer has client pages you can buy... I've found them very useful. But still, yeah. I always feel bad when it's back and forth trying to schedule, waiting to see what work hours are going to look like or the weather or what have you. C'est la vie.

mail? What's that? No, really, when I get mail, I try to respond the second I read it, so I don't forget all about it. I've honestly forgotten to reply to a couple of e-mails until a few days after I got them. Thankfully, they weren't offers for a shoot that had a deadline of that week!

See...now I must be tired, because after posting that I realized I was using my photographer's profile! I guess it works either way, though...

Not afraid, and I like that it tells you that anything you sent has been read...that way I know that they got it, aren't interested, and are too busy to reply!
