For those of you who live in the Chicago area, if you'll check page 7 of this week's The Onion*, you'll see this ad at the bottom:

(It's considerably larger in the paper.)

Photographs by... yours truly.

Photographic CROPPING by someone else, I hasten to add. But those are my pictures. In an ad that somebody paid real money to run in a real publication.

Well. How about that? My first tear sheet. What an odd feeling.

I pay to get my photos in The Onion.  Not much, but I have a change jar into which I'd delve.

i was thinking maybe you cropped the one on the left... not that i'd ever refer to you as a "yeyhoo," david.

I'm not sure I'da cropped her RIGHT AT the neck, maybe just below the lips at the chin, or maybe below the nipples, but not sure about the neck!

Thanks to all who commented, by the way.

I don't know if it is available in the 'burbs. If it is it would be at a big bookstore or an alternative book/music/video store. Here's where they say they distribute in Chicago.

Oh, my. According to this, somewhere around 360,000 people are going to see that ad. That's many orders of magnitude higher than the total number of people who have seen my work since I started, I'm guessing.

Cool.  Thanks.  Hubby's a carpenter for Turner Construction and they are at a few of the downtown universities NW, Columbia...maybe he can snare an issue for me.  Thanks for the information!

Take care and congrats again.
