Remove The Tags !
Ok, this may belong in the pet peeves forum but I thought I would put it here. I did a search and did not see this discussed anywhere. If a MOD sees this and it is a topic that has been discussed I guess you can kill this one, lol. Anyway. I have noticed a lot of shots in both model and phoographer portfolios where a model is wearing something sheer, say, panties. She is posed with her back to the camera and there is this obvious tag inside the panties that, to me, sticks out like a sore thumb. I swear, I see this and I know how the guy from the "Monk" TV show feels when he sees something out of order that he can not fix. Please, models, carefully remove the tags from your clothing before shooting if there is a possibility it will show through or untuck itself from the clothing. At least cut it as close to the clothing as possible. Photographers, ask them to do this before the shoot, or at least before the shoot starts. It only takes a few seconds to do if she brings stuff to the shoot with tags still attached. It can be a very simple photoshop fix, but there are times when the pattern on the sheer clothing(lace, etc) can make it a very obvious looking fix that can look worse than if the tag was left alone. Jan 06 06 10:11 pm Link I usually just put my hand between the tag and the image, using a fish eye of course. I feel up, I mean feel I should be in all my work, Star Jan 06 06 10:18 pm Link I just did a shoot with a model, she had a tag sticking out of her top. I told her to hide it, and that she'll learn to cut em out before shoots. Mike Jan 06 06 10:57 pm Link Mike Sellers wrote: I don`t tell them to hide it, I hand them a pair of scissors, lol. Jan 06 06 11:20 pm Link Glamour Boulevard wrote: yep thats right and coke Jan 06 06 11:26 pm Link Interesting subject for me. I am finishing up my line for the year. Last year I only put my tags in half of my bikinis and this year not at all. I would rather keep my company tag out and have the model be able to wear the bikini for a long time to come than to cut the tag out and accidently cut the bikini too. It is an odd predictment though. I feel like I should add them in for my company's sake yet I feel like I am doing the models and photographers a favor by not adding my tags in. So for now, I am leaving them out and will stick with my slogan "The Model Bikini" Ha! Jan 07 06 12:06 am Link I hate tags too. Jan 07 06 02:10 am Link Nytevision wrote: If you own the outfit, you should know that, lol. And there is always a way to mark the item so you can remember. Like perhaps a stitch or two if a certain color thread somewhere on it for dry clean, another color for washable items. Jan 07 06 08:25 am Link Model Sarah wrote: That's why we love ya. :-) Jan 07 06 08:43 am Link Tags look unpolished - even in person. It's like that awful panty line sticking out in tight jeans or the atrocious thong riding higher than the waistline of a woman's pants. Oof. If, for some reason, the model and the photog miss the tag, please, by all means, photoshop that sucker out. It's a distraction that could take away from the beauty of an otherwise gorgeous image. Jan 07 06 08:56 am Link What about after-the-fact methods like clone stamp? Then the items can still be returned after the shoot! Jan 07 06 09:08 am Link MHana wrote: Right, and with my luck, the story coming out of the shoot will be...."Crazy photographer goes after model with 8" knike and duct tape" Jan 07 06 10:22 am Link mphunt wrote: Best laugh all morning!
