I was speechless when I got that respond from a model I asked to work with.
I asked her what are you talking about? She responds "Don't you watch news? 2 girls were murdered by a photographer"

What would be your respond?

This is what I originally asked her:

Hi

I own a design studio in Woodland Hills where I do fashion photography, graphic and website design.

I am interested in working with you as I do have clients who contantly asking me for models to use for different projects.

Please let me know if you are interested.

Thanks

You could have responded with .....

"You think you'll end up dead the next morning? But imagine all the great sex we'll have before then!"

or......

"Okay. Fine. I plan to murder you. But look at the bright side - I never rape the ones I kill!"

or.....

"Is that so wrong?"

or.....

"I only murder the models that are hotter than you. With you, I'll just jerk-off to the photos."

or.....

"A little necrophelia never hurt anybody."

or.....

"Dead girls can't say no."

or.....

"But I'll pay you first."

I could go on......

Ahhhhhhhhh... give the model the benefit of the doubt. Maybe she just gets a little, teensy, incy, bit confused when she hears that ALL photographers have a "body of work".

hahahaha.... so umm.... why have photographs up?

That just might be the most unprofessional thing I have ever heard of.

So I would consider yourself lucky that you ended up not shooting her.

Would have been a nightmare I am sure... lol

Every murderer has another profession by day...some are accountants...some are trash collectors...some are PHOTOGRAPHERS.

Damn those murderers for giving you photographers a bad name!

Unlike others here, I'll try a serious response.

Some models are young and possibly inexperienced, and news stories like this one can be very scary.  So, address their concerns:

>>> My advice to all models (and photographers) is to check references.

>>> I never want a model to do anything that makes them uncomfortable.  I want her to tell me if she is uncomfortable.

>>> I, for one, am usually happy for a model to bring an escort to a sitting (although I do set the escort's expectations regarding acceptable behavior).

>>> Your site seems highly professional -- somehow I doubt that you are alone with the model.  Let her know what to expect during a sitting, including whether there will be MUAs or stylists present.

>>> Failing that, perhaps the so-called model needs either to figure out how she can be comfortable modeling or to find another line of work.

Goooooooooooood grief!

IF you subscribe to that logic:

I should be terrified becauseeeeeeeee...

There was a single white female driving
a white Dodge Durango who was broad-sided
and killed instantly on I-285 in ATL yesterday.

I am white, single, own a Dodge Durango, and drive
I-285 daily.

Sheeeeeeeesh, my odds are EVEN higher than hers.

That's it...I am NEVER driving again.

From this day forward I WILL walk everywhere...

Uh-ohhhhhhhh...Noooooooo, wait, that is dangerous too...

There was a female pedestrian who was hit
on 316 the day before. And ooooooooooohhhhh my
gosh I know where the 316 is and have walked across
the parking lots and overpasses there too.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!
