That website gives two different numbers. When you convert the cm to feet you do get the 5'6". But if you go from cm to in you get 67.something inches which is 5'7.

I see where you went wrong.

172cm = 5.64 ft.

5.64 feet is not 5' 6". It is 5' and .64 of a foot. Take 12 inches x .64 and you get 7.68 inches.

So 172cm=5' 7.68"

Try not to rely so much or calculators.

The problem is in your interpretation of 5.64 feet. It's like if I tell you to meet me in 2.5 hours. That means 2 hours 30 minutes. Not 2 hours 50 minutes.
